Mix Tape Wonder Wallet

Mixtape_wallet
There seemed to be a lot of interest in yesterday’s Retro Cassette tote bag. So we thought we would feature another cassette-based product – this time, the Mix Tape Wonder Wallet from Tangled Up In Blue.

The cassette wallet is one of a range of designs, all with sections for money and change, plus separate areas for chequebooks and receipts, plus clear pockets for your cards. And it all snaps shut with a contrasting tab.

Sized at 8 inches x 4.5 inches, you can pick one up online for $32 (around £16).

Freemans 70s-style duvet set

Freemans_70s
You don’t always have to pay a high price for interesting design – you can find it the most unusual of places – like this 70s-style duvet set, which you can pick up from old-school mail order firm Freemans.

A big and bold design that screams the era, made from a cotton and polyester mix and available in two colour schemes – the blue one pictured here and a pink/orange combination. And here’s the best thing – if you buy one set, they send you a spare one absolutely free.

And buying one doesn’t cost much – prices start at just £4.99 (depending on the size of bed you choose).

Elvis rubber duck – with lights

Elvis_duck
Remember the James Brown rubber duck? Well, if that wasn’t quite to your taste, you might like the Elvis Duck.

Yes, kitted out in Vegas-era gear, shades and quiff, it’s an ideal bath time companion. But it’s not just a rubber duck – it also lights up. That’s down to some internal LED lights – when they hit the water, they activate, offering up some mood lighting for your soak.

Powered by battery (included), you can pick one up online for £6.95.

Next Sputnik-style pendant light

Next_sputnik
Next
isn’t the first place I would look for interior design, but this season they have some great lighting at cheap prices – including this Sputnik-style pendant light.

Very much in the style of the original Sputnik, this light fitting is claimed to be easy to fit and with plenty of chrome on display, including chrome-plated plastic balls.

Operating with a 100w bulb, it’s available for a bargain £15.

Kiwi unikko plastic range

Kiwiunikko
We have covered the Marimekko unikko range in the past, but as it’s coming up for summer, we thought we would mention this range of plastic unikko plates and bowls by Zak! available at Debenhams.

They feature the great unikko flower design in a summery kiwi colour, but because they are plastic they would be great for picnics and outdoor use – and for the same reason, they are also fairly cheap. The large square plate pictured here costs £5.50, but you can also get a small square plate or bowl for just £4.50 each.
