eBay watch: 1960s Mercedes-Benz 220SEb Coupe

Merc1

A stunning car – but the Mercedes-Benz 220SEb Coupe comes at a price.

Dating back to 1968, this particular model has recently been restored to what's been described as a 'very high standard' – and it shows. Mixing an ivory finish with a chocolate brown interior, it packs all the period detailing, as well as a 2,195cc engine, automatic transmission, leather seats, power steering and an AM/FM radio for your entertainment.

eBay watch: Anstey & Wilson sunburst/starburst wall clock

Sunburst

The modern-day repro Newgate Pluto starburst wall clock went down well last week, so we suspect this original Anstey & Wilson wall clock will be equally as popular.

Sunburst, starburst, take your pick on the name, but the look is just as you would expect. Described as '1970s' (although it looks much earlier), the clock isn't a million miles away from the Newgate, same dark wood 'rays' (teak in this case) and same type of brass face.

The whole thing is 18cm across the face, 64cm full width and is said to be in good working order. Cheap enough right now too – just 99 pence.

eBay watch: Dieter Rams-designed Braun PC 3-SV turntable

Rams_deck

An iconic design and currently available for under £1 – the Dieter Rams-designed Braun PC 3-SV turntable.

Designed in 1959, the PC 3-SV is the turntable element of Rams' iconic SK 4 series. It's plinth-mounted, has all the vinyl speeds you will require and is apparently in 'fully working order' and 'excellent cosmetic condition', as well as being available on ebay right now at just 99 pence. Will it end on that? I suspect not, but it's worth a punt.

The seller also seems to specialise in Rams/Braun designs, so check out his other designs too for everything from heaters and fans through to coffee grinders and hair dryers.

eBay watch: Merrow Associates sideboard

Merrow_sideboard

It might not be the most attractice example you'll ever see, but this Merrow Associates sideboard could be one of the cheapest to sell on eBay.

It's a classic Richard Young design from around 1970, a timeless mix of chrome and rosewood with a craftsman finish you'll rarely find on modern pieces. Well, usually. This one has been through the watrs a bit, so that small (current) price tag is for good reason. Yes, it needs restoration, including re-chroming, some holes and a good polish of its rosewood.

It might sound like hard work, but as a good example tends to sell for £1,000+, the £41 currently being asked does mean you'll have money to spend on it. If you want an idea of how it could look, check out the listing for one the seller previously upgraded.

eBay watch: 1960s William Plunkett lounge chairs

Plunkett

We have featured a William Plunkett WP01 sofa of this style in the past, which sells new for just under £3,000. So you can see how much of a bargain these William Plunkett lounge chairs could be.

Presumably from the same era as the sofa, which makes it a mid-60s design, the chairs can be used separately or combined to make a modular seating unit. All have heavy metal frames with a white finish and what's described as 'leatherette bubble cushions'. I would have thought an original Plunkett would have been leather – you might want to check that out.

If it is a genuine Plunkett design (and the seller is retailing it as one), the current price of £50 per chair is something of a bargain.

eBay watch: 1970s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

Roller

In the 60s and 70s, driving round in a Rolls Royce said everything about you – that you'd made it and had cash spilling out of every pocket. Since then, luxury cars have become more commonplace, but the 'Roller' is still a car that turns heads. And as this Rolls Royce Silver Shadow shows, it's not out of your reach in 2010.

This is a vintage 1975 model, previously used as a wedding car and probably could be again. Just spend a few quid on a peaked cap and you're away. Or you could simply be a 'show off' and take if for a spin round town, although that 6,750cc engine might need more than one fuel stop along the way, as well as a small bank loan to fill the tank.

Just over 100,000 miles on the clock (which isn't bad), with an AM/FM stereo, CD player, cruise control, leather seats, power-assisted steering, power seats, power windows and all the luxury you require thrown in. Check the small print for the full lowdown and if you like what you see, the bidding is currently at just £2,100.
