eBay watch: Robin Day space age 4-4000 chair for Hille

A superb impact chair is currently available in eBay for a price that doesn't break the bank – the Robin Day space age 4-4000 chair for Hille.

I know it has impact because I have one in my home already, although it does look a little different than the above, due to this one being re-upholstered, but with some style I have to say. The recliner chair was made by Day for Hille in the 70s as part of a 'Living Theme' aimed at a younger crowd and sold in Habitat, offering up a podium for different seating angles and foam cushions for comfort.

Time has led to a little 'yellowing' of the chair (like ours too), but it's still an amazing seat that's been out of production for years. £399 gets it on a 'Buy It Now' or you can make an offer.

eBay watch: Dieter Rams-designed 1960s Braun RT20 radio

A perfect example of a design classic – and right now, the price of this Dieter Rams-designed 1960s Braun RT20 radio hasn’t gone above a penny.

That’s probably because the radio is a fairly new listing (there’s also a ‘Buy It Now of £500), but if you keep your eye on it, you could bag a bargain. According to the write-up, the 1961 Rams design is in very good condition, offering LW and MW reception, plus controls for volume, treble and bass.

Even if you never play it, the radio would look great on a midcentury sideboard and it can only go up in value. Especially if you get it for that penny plus postage from Germany.

eBay watch: Giant Swatch watch for your wall

I don't know a great deal about this, but I suspect that the giant Swatch for your wall pictured here here isn't the most common of items.

Or maybe it is. Either way, it's certainly an attention grabber, perfect for Swatch lovers, fans of 80s design or for anyone looking for some interesting pop art-style design for their home.

According to the seller, this super-sized watch is 2.1m high, with a 30cm diameter face and sold in working order, although 'some of the internal plastic tabs that hold it together have snapped, so it needs to be treated carefully, or glued together'. Even allowing for that, the current price of £19.99 seems very reasonable.

eBay watch: Adidas Originals tote bag

We've covered a lot of sale items today, but this Adidas Originals tote bag isn't such an item. It is, however, an absolute bargain.

Yes, forget going to the shops with a slightly embarrassing, supermarket-branded reusable bag, instead take one of these uber-cool old school Adidas Originals tote bags, which you can 'bag' in blue, white or red, all with the classic Adidas logo on the front and back, marking you out as both a friend of the environment and a pretty hip dude too.

Best bit? The seller on eBay has quite a few of these bags available for a bargain £2.99 each (on a 'Buy It Now'). A small price to pay for looking so sharp round Tesco.

eBay watch: Braun Atelier 1-81 radio and stereo record player by Hans Gugelot and Dieter Rams

This site isn't knocked up randomly you know – having just flagged up the excellent Braun design book, we have one the company's finest designs – the Braun Atelier 1-81 radio and stereo record player by Hans Gugelot and Dieter Rams.

It could be one of the most stylish audio system ever made and yes, some of the functionality of this early 60s system isn't exactly 2009 (no iPod connectivity for sure), but it should fit effortlessly into any home.

It's in full working order and excellent condition, although the electrics might need sorting out for your country (it's selling out of Germany). You'll also need some speakers too. Which makes the £600 asking price a little rich. Saying that, it is a classic piece of design, unlikely to ever be remade. Looking at it that way, the Braun Atelier 1-81 could be a shrewd investment for the future.

eBay watch: Pong Clock by Buro Vormkrijgers

Thanks to Andrew for flagging up a rare sighting online – of a Pong Clock by Buro Vormkrijgers, currently being auctioned on eBay.

As you can see, this is a clock based on the classic Pong arcade game. Only 400 were produced by Buro Vormkrijgers, all numbered and signed by the maker, all showing the time on the scoreboard – left player shows the hours, right shows the minutes.

Soon after the first batch were made, Atari (which owns the copyright) stepped in to stop further production, so the 400 made will be the only 400 in existence. Which makes this a real collector's piece. The one on offer now is 180/400 and is up on a 'buy it now' for £699.99. Not cheap, but as something unlikely to be made again, possibly a shrewd investment.
