Lomolitos – Lomo photography goes disposable

Lomolitos

Lomographic photography has always been cheap and cheerful, but now it’s gone a step further with the disposable Lomolitos.

Take your pick from the choice of bold colours above, each one featuring an integrated colour filter that can be switched on or off at will to create distinctly unique (almost vintage) images – even at night, via the built-in flash.

This retro 35mm disposable camera offers 27 exposures and retails for £9.50 – worth a shot if you’ve ever fancied trying out Lomo snapping.

Sanyo’s retro-styled Xacti CG9 camcorder set to be cheap and cheerful

Xacti

New in Japan, but heading elsewhere in the coming weeks, is the Sanyo Xacti CG9.

It’s a re-design of the existing camcorder, keeping those retro super-8 looks, but with a slightly fatter shape and easier to use controls. Not the most cutting edge camcorder you’ll see, but the 9.1MP CMOS sensor, 2.5-inch LCD screen, 40MB of internal memory (with SD/SDHC card extension) and 5x optical zoom should all combine to capture your life in decent enough quality.

And it should be cheap. No news of how cheap, but Sanyo claims it will be ‘aggressively priced’ throughout the world, which should make the thing to be seen with this summer.

Hulger converts its retro phones for DJ use

Hulger

Ever noticed the DJs on the phone behind the decks? Well, you’ve probably guessed they’re not chatting to their mates – they are actually cueing up the next tune. And you can do the same.

Yes, retro handset specialist Hulger has introduced a DJ Adaptor that converts the plug on the Hulger phone to a headphone socket – meaning you can plug in the phone and do your best superstar DJ impression.

The Adaptor retails for 15 Euros, with a basic handset from Hulger (which you can use with your mobile) selling for 60 Euros. If you just want the DJ functionality, a cheaper option is probably the DJ-Phone, which you can pick up from Sivletto for around £25.

Singgih Kartono Magno – retro wooden radio range

Sing_wood

A while back, we featured the Singgih Kartono Magno radio, thinking it was a one off. But as you can see from the above picture, it was just one of a range of retro Singgih Kartono Magno wooden radios.

Three available – small, medium and large – all made as much as possible from wood, specifically ebony, with the radios made in Indonesia by local craftspeople. All essentially offer the same functionality – AM, FM and shortwave radio reception and connectivity for an iPod/MP3 player.

But the more money you pay, the extras you get. The basic small radio retails for $200, the medium adds a visible dial for $250 while the large version also throws in a large speaker for $300.

Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF 5.0 – classic camera in miniature

Minidigi_red
We featured the original Rolleiflex MiniDigi back in 2006, a miniature version of a vintage design – and a camera that sold out very quickly after its launch. Which means you’ll have to be quick off the mark to pick up the new Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF 5.0.

Despite its looks, this isn’t a relic of the past, it’s actually a digital replica of the original classic twin reflex camera. Inside that eye-catching red and black case is a three megapixel CMOS sensor, autofocus, and a very clear 1.1 inch TFT monitor – located on the top. Which means you can take pictures in the same way as the original by looking down at the screen to aim and shoot.

Check with Rollei for official dealers, where it will retail for $399 (around £150).
