Sixties-style Bubblerack

BubbleRack_main

The bubblerack is one of those treasured things, something practical that also manages to look good. Primarily a coat rack, the retro bubbles shaped design could also double as a piece of wall art. The rack is made from powder coated steel and is available in the suitably sixties colour options of white or orange.

The rack is designed by an American company called Wallter and costs $145.

Verner Panton limited edition Platinum and Gold Thermo Cups

Verner1

Back in early 2008, Menu launched a homeware range that used the geometric patterns of Verner Panton. Fast forward to 2009 and we now have some limited editions – the Verner Panton Platinum Thermo Cup and the Verner Panton Gold Thermo Cup.

Both are sold in sets of two and made of porcelain, with the detailing in either gold-plate or pure platinum, ideal for showing off your wealth or your knowledge of classic design.

They don't cost as much as you might think either. A set of two in either limited edition finish will set you back £30. See the gold design over the page.

Retro Tumbled Tile Coasters

61fnwJVlNQL__AA400_

Having spent a small fortune on a retro coffee table, it is a good idea to protect its surfaces with some equally retro coasters such as these Tumbled Tile Coasters from Target.

Sold as a set of four, the coasters are made of stone, which has been painted with different retro patterns. Each tile has a different design, but uses the same colours so they still work well together. One has stripes, two have florals and the other combines flowers with spots.

They cost $14.99 per set from Target.

DIY Flower Clock

KA4903

Like the Postmaster Architectural Clock we featured recently, the DIY Flower Clock by Karlsson allows a certain amount of control over the exact appearance of the clock.

Instead of numbers, the clock has brightly coloured flowers, which can be arranged in any order you want and in a square, circle, oval or any irregular shape you want (within reason so you can still tell the time). The clock hands can then be placed in the centre of your layout. The pieces all have sticky backs that allow them to be moved around should you not be happy with your first attempt.

The clock costs £40 from Stylish Life.

Box Side Table

Cubetable

This Box Side Table from Dwell achieves a certain retro style because of two factors.

Firstly, two sides of the cube have large circles cut away from them, which creates a Sixties geometric look. This style is added to by the use of that favourite retro finish, walnut veneer. It can be used in the lounge or perhaps as a bedside table as well.

The table costs £99 from Dwell.
