Sagaform retro tea cup and saucer

Sagaform tea cup and saucer

The title of this product makes no secret that it's looking back a few decades: Sagaform have named this the retro tea cup and saucer, part of several pieces in a new 'retro' range. Lotta Odelius has looked to the 1950s to produce this attractive pattern, featuring naturally-inspired blue and green shapes on a white base.

This tea cup and saucer costs £14.50 while a storage jar featuring the same pattern is available for £12.50.

Bloomsbury Patterned Shoeboxes

I48bad8b6e7daa

I’m always on the look out for storage solutions, but so far I’ve yet to find anything to keep my shoe collection under control. But with the discovery of these Bloomsbury Patterned Shoeboxes, I think I may have the answer.

Measuring 30cm (w) x 32cm (d ) x 15cm (h), the boxes have a window at the front, so you can see which shoes are inside without opening all of the boxes. Of course, what I really like about the boxes, is the patterned exteriors, which are available in a choice of green and yellow florals, red star burst pattern or a blue geometric print.

The boxes cost £16 each from Berry Red.

Ikea retro-styled Godis Mix glasses

Godis

Big thanks to Robert, who spotted these retro-styled Godis Mix glasses on the shelves of his local Ikea.

The Henrik Preutz design above is one of four newly-added designs, three of which have a retro theme, including the ones above, which pack a colourful 50s-style leaf motif.

Oh and yes, this is Ikea, so you know it's going to be cheap. Just £4.99 for a six-pack of glasses, no matter what design you opt for.

Elli Pop’s Just Around Midnight wallpaper

Elli popp,jade

More wallpaper… However, Elli Pop's Just Around Midnight wallpaper looks a bit further back in time than some of the recent papers we've highlighted. This wallpaper features a romanticised early-twentieth century scene of couples dancing away into the night, complete with gorgeous gowns, headpieces and fans. The line drawings look a bit Aubrey Beardsley-esque, while the semi pearl effect given by the mica paper adds to the nostalgia of the scene.

The paper also comes with a champagne or jade colour background, although you'd really need to fall in love with it before purchasing as a roll costs £199.

BarDeco Lamps

LM_BarDecoPblk_popup

The BarDeco Lamps were inspired by the barcode, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of its patent this month.

The bars on the lampshade are different widths which in this case allows different amounts of light and shade to be created, but also replicates the appearance of a barcode. The design also has a hint of art deco style about it hence the name. The lamps are available in a choice of either black (pictured here) or white and are made from powder-coated steel.

The BarDeco Lamp costs £179 and can be bought online from the Hidden Art Shop.

Vintage New York Subway Handle

Swatch_1465_sw_image

My first reaction to the Vintage New York Subway Handle was “that’s cool, but what do you do with it?”. Thankfully, the retailer, Pedlars, has made some suggestions such as using it hang tea towels in the kitchen or hand towels in the bathroom.

Pedlars has acquired 200 of these handles from decommissioned New York subways and they certainly make an interesting talking point, if you can find a suitable use for them in your home.

The handles cost £59.95 each from Pedlars.
