Naver Aero Sideboard

Cabinets1_1

This sideboard is part of the Aero range designed for the Danish company Naver.

Naver takes its name from the word " Navere " which is an old Danish traditional name for the cabinetmakers who travelled the world to learn their trade from the masters who provided them with board and lodging. This craftsmanship is evident in all of their furniture with the Aero collection designed by Søren Nissen And Ebbe Gehl drawing on the “Golden Age” of Danish design. The sideboard has a distinctive oval shape, and comprises of four four drawers in the centre with a cupboard either side.

Within 4 Walls is selling the sideboard in a choice of walnut or light oak. The walnut costs an eye-watering £4384, while the oak model is significantly cheaper, although still not actually cheap, at £3337. Visit Within4Walls to buy.

Seventies Sunflower Cushion

Sfcc%20WEB

There is no shortage of retro print cushions out there and indeed we hardly go a week without featuring one. So not wanting to break that tradition, may I draw your attention to this Seventies Sunflower Cushion.

The square cushion has been made by hand in a cotton featuring a very bold sunflower pattern. The yellow/orange sunflowers on a brown background version pictured here is probably the most authentically 70s looking, but cushions are also available in olive green and purple or shades blue, both against white backgrounds.

The cushions cost £20 with a fibre cushion pad. Deduct £3 for just the cover or add £4 for a feather pad. Buy online from HunkyDory Home.

Bits and Bobs tin from Cox & Cox

Bits and bob tin

It can be tricky to get photo storage boxes that aren't either too fussy or too minimalistic. Cox & Cox's Bits and Bobs tin just about hits the middle ground between the two. Featuring a suitably nostalgia school photograph on the lid, the rest of the tin is left plain. It measures 12 x 16cm so a fair bit of space for your favourite snaps and other mementos.

Can you put a price on memories? Arguably you can and, in this case, it's just £10.

Barker and Stonehouse Hope & Glory Sofa

HOPEGLORY_1_Large

Continuing the ongoing trend for using union jacks in interior design, this Hope & Glory sofa from Barker and Stonehouse makes a dramatic statement. The whole sofa is covered in a vintage-looking union jack fabric. The faded upholstery combined with its Chesterfield shape gives this sofa a shabby chic feel rather than having a bright pop look.

For £1595, you'll need to question if you'll still love it once union jacks fall from fashion again. If the answer to that is a resolute yes, you'll also be pleased to hear that a matching foot stool is also available.

Lisa Jones’ Town on a tea towel

Town tea towel

Earlier in the month we featured Lisa Jones' stylish Town print. If you liked that print but the £65 price tag was just slightly beyond your budget, you'll be pleased to hear that exactly the same design is available on a tea towel.

Printed on 100% organic cotton, it's a simple way of introducing some colour and retro influenced design into your kitchen. And, at £10, it's pretty cost effective too.
