Brooks Brothers JFK suit

Brooks_jfk_1  Brook Brothers certainly aren’t vintage, though many of their items still have a leaning to a past era – like this Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald Solid Two-Button 1818 suit, or for a shorter name, the JFK suit.

It’s got the JFK name because it’s based on suits that were made for John F. Kennedy in the early 60s. This two-button suit has a slimmer fit than the rest of the Brooks range, along with narrow lapels. There’s also a centre vent, full Bemberg lining, corozo buttons, double besom flap pockets and the trousers are both narrow and flat fronted.

Expect to find it in the newly opened Brooks Brothers store in London for around £599 or in the US for $898.

Prince Buster ska t-shirt

PrincebusterFollowing on from the Reggae Labels t-shirt is this Prince Buster t-shirt, featuring the man complete with a slightly wonky pork pie hat.

It’s made by Anon and is a brown t-shirt with mustard lettering. As well as the image of the ska legend, the wording says "The king of ska – Prince Buster – touring Britain" and "Fly flying ska".

Made of 100% cotton and available in all sizes, it sells for £22.

Pair of Lego cufflinks

Lego_cufflinks_1
Although they’re not named as such – probably due to potential copyright infringements – these are most certainly Lego cufflinks.

They’re actually billed as Forever Young cufflinks, designed by Jacqueline Sanchez. Handmade, in your choice of colour, they have a sterling silver base with a sandblasted plastic centre in the colour of your choice.

As they’re custom made, so allow three weeks before shipping. They retail for $150 (that’s around £80).

Berluti Deux Jours bag

Berluti_1
If you buy into the "man bag" thing, you might as well make it as classy as possible. And for my money, you’ll not get anything with more style than the Berluti Deux Jours bag.

Made from a soft quality leather, it’s sized at 16.5 x 12 x 5.7 inches (so enough room for most laptops) and with two compartments and a zipped outside pocket, there’s plenty of room to pack in just about everything else you might need about town.

Available in two shades of leather, it’s available online for $1,900 (that’s around £1,000).

Reprodepot fabrics – vintage fabrics online

Reprofabric
If you can find any vintage fabrics, there’s always the risk that they’re in far from perfect condition, or available in insufficient quantities for your needs. That’s where Reprodepot comes in.

As the name suggests, Reprodepot make reproduction vintage fabrics. They started out in 1999 because they were unable to find sufficient amounts of vintage cloth. Instead they decide to make their own – a mix of vintage copies and material inspired by days gone by. They also offer other vintage items, such as ribbons, buttons and clothing. And best of all, they ship worldwide.

As is our want, we’re fans of the 60s and 70s section. Check out the pictured Flower Power Paisley fabric here – 100 per cent cotton and available for $8.50 per yard. You’ll struggle to find something similar at the local fabric shop!
