This beautiful cornflower blue porcelain teacup trio dates to the mid-twentieth century, and is perfectly decorated with hand painted blue flowers on green stems.

It's the ultimate in tea-party chic to be accompanied by dainty cakes and cucumber sandwiches or to add an element of 1950s vintage elegance to a room.

Both plates and the large teacup are in excellent condition and available from the aptly named The Oxford Tea Party for £4.99.

Umbra Condolisa Side Table – in the shape of a modernist house

Mod_house

One of our more popular recent posts was the Umbra Fishcondo, which was a fish bowl shaped like a modernist house. Well, not only is there a version for your goldfish, but there's a similar design for you to enjoy now, with the Umbra Condolisa Side Table.

As you might have guessed, it's by the same design team of Luong & Cheng, this time offering up a larger version of the modernist-inspired dwelling, as well as a version that has frosted acrylic cut-out windows within the high gloss wooden structure, plus some shelves for your bits and pieces. It also has a removable lid for last-minute hiding of your living room rubbish at short notice.

A new design for 2011 and standing around 48cm tall, it sells for £216.

eBay watch: 1970s Citroen DS car

Ds

I was just reviewing an old horror movie on another of our sites and finding myself appreciating the Citroen DS that was used in one scene. So I opened up eBay, hunt around and found this 1970s Citroen DS available for auction.

According to the seller, this particular model is from 1974, with 100,000 miles on the clock and imported originally from Italy. The idea was to do it up, some of which was done to the tune of £1,600 from an established DS workshop. However, some work is needed to upgrade the interior and bodywork – but mechanically it's said to run just fine with both tax and MOT in place.

The 2.2-litre engine might drink petrol, but there's no denying that this is a head-turner and a genuine classic. Right now, bidding is at £1,119.

Faux Fur Frock Coat from Miss Selfridge

Camelcoat

Full faux fur coats have been seen everywhere across the high street this Winter, and while they're a great retro look, they can be too overwhelming for some. If you want to tap into that trashy glamour without going all out, this Faux Fur Frock Coat from Miss Selfridge could be ideal.

Using the fur as a generous trim at the collar and cuffs, the coat combines classic tailoring with decadent textures. The full skirt of the coat adds symmetry to the large collar, while slim sleeves keep the silhouette feminine. The end product is versatile enough to pair with a variety of retro looks, from Factory-girl glamour to seventies chic.

It's available now from Miss Selfridge for £80.

Poppy Print Circle Skirt from Dorothy Perkins

Poppyskirt

Much of the fifties looks available from reproduction brands and the high street of late have erred on the side of structural, vampish looks. If rockabilly style isn't for you, a more traditionally fifties look can be achieved with items like this Poppy Print Skirt from Dorothy Perkins.

The circle skirt style is given a softer edge with the use of a flowing cotton fabric, eschewing the heavily structured alternatives. The poppy print utilises the floral trend without falling for cliché, and adds impact with its colour palette too. Finished with a long hemline, this skirt is ideal for a more conservative and classic fifties inspired wardrobe.

It's available now from Dorothy Perkins for £30.
