If you want some vintage-inspired, reasonably priced artwork for your home, take a look at the Violet May collages, available from All Things Original

The collages are the work of photographer Cassia Beck whose work we've previously featured on this site. She uses her own pictures and combines them with retro images taken from the pages of vintage magazine and coloured paper. The result is charming, dream-like pieces that are sure to add a pretty touch to a room.

The best news is that all the collages are currently on sale for £15.

1959 Chelsea tea towel design from the Museum of London

Chelsea tea towel

A slice of bohemian London life in the fifties is captured in this Chelsea tea towel, produced for the shop at the Museum of London

It uses an illustration produced for Tatler magazine in 1959 by Mardie Madden and features a stylised map of the streets of Chelsea, which it called the 'liveliest area in town'. Produced just before the 1960s style explosion you associate with the King's Road and the area, the characters illustrated include artistic types, alongside more traditional figures such as the Chelsea guard.

A nice slice of London life, this tea towel costs £6.50.

Andrew Martin Cushions

Andrewmartincushions

For our regular feature of a retro cushion, this week I’ve picked these Andrew Martin Cushions.

Many of Andrew Martin’s designs have a retro influence such as the Jumbo Mugs we’ve written about before, but this collection mixes together traditional retro motifs (Stars and Stripes and Union Jack) with folk art from Ghana and the Ivory Coast. The appliqué designs are mounted onto either red or brown linen cushions, measuring 60cm square.

The cushions cost £69 each from Amara,
