Ottoman Dress from Principles by Ben de Lisi

Ottoman

Two-in-one dresses, with a combined top and skirt, have been all over the high street for the past few seasons. That's good news for vintage fashion lovers as the high waisted shape is ideal for a retro silhouette. This Ottoman Dress from Principles by Ben de Lisi is a great example of a fifties/sixties look done with simplicity.

Monochrome stripes combined with the wide A-line skirt shape give an instantly retro feeling, creating a chic and feminine outline. The sleeveless top combined with a high neckline help to add a sixties chic with minimised bust.

Retro Series Nostalgia Electrics 50s style popcorn popper

Popcorn popper

More Fifties style but with a very different look courtesy of the Retro Series Nostalgia Electrics popcorn popper. Once you get over that lengthy name and, as you start settling in for the weekend ahead, you'll realise how much better your life could be with some popcorn hot from this little device.

It is looks like it comes straight from a movie theatre in the 50s but, at just under 40cm high, is sized to fit a normal size home. There's been some other updates for the 21st century too: the machine uses hot air, rather than oil, to do the popping making it a little bit healthier.

The draw back to its good American looks is that it's an American electrical item and so is set up for such. That means to use it in the UK you'll have to think about adaptors and the like.

The price? For £34.61 you'll be able to get yourself an awful lot of popcorn.

Sanderson 1950s-style Dandelions design now available as a rug

Sanderson dandelion rug

Sanderson's Dandelion design has proved to be amazingly popular. Their 1950s take on florals has itself been much imitated: in fact we mentioned it just last week in relation to the Next Alpine Meadow range.

Fans of the design will be pleased to hear that they are now producing it on a rug, a classy tufted wool number in the blue/green colour combination.

The price? Well, you know it's not going to be bargain basement. It's available for £595 but will hopefully keep on looking stylish for years to come.

eBay watch: Meister Anker 1970s space age alarm clock

Clock

I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with the brand, but right now this Meister Anker alarm clock looks like something of a steal.

Made in the early 70s and packing those space age looks, the clock ignores the flip number option and pre-dates digital, so opts for a traditional analogue clock, which site on a black background, all framed by that red plastic body.

It tells you the time, it has an alarm, it even has a snooze button. According to the seller, the clock is in 'good condition' and 'full working order', so it's useful as well as good looking. Price? Right now you can grab it for offers over 99p.

Size offers exclusive colour range of 1970s Adidas Jeans OG trainers

Jeans1
We did cover one reissue of these back in September last year, but Size has got its own exclusive colour options for sale of the Adidas Jeans OG trainers – one of which will probably be in demand from Aston Villa and West Ham fans.

I’m talking about the claret and blue option above, which is released alongside a two tone blue colour (pictured over the page), both of which are available online right now. If you’ve missed them previously, the Adidas Jeans was initially introduced in the late 70s, desiged to be worn with jeans and was much-loved on the terraces.

Aside from the colours, this reissue keeps the trademark dash of yellow on the sole and the all-suede upper, selling online for £64.99.

Update: This reissue is no longer available. However, you can get two recent reissues of the Adidas Jeans trainers at the End Clothing website.

Wool Cashmere Coat by Cinzia Rocca

Cinziarocca

While Spring seems to be taking its sweet time coming around, the cold weather still warrants a good overcoat investment for most of us. Chic cut and simple detailing are the best choice for a retro-look coat that you'll want to wear year after year, making this Cinzia Rocca a worthy investment.

Available in both black and camel, the rich fabric gives this coat a luxurious feel. The cut of this speaks for itself, with neat lapels and a cinched waist adding to the impact of its length and heavy quality.
