Raul Jacket by Diane von Furstenberg

Dvraul

Diane Von Furstenberg is one of few big name designers who has never forgotten the inspirations of her original collections in the 1960s, making her something of a favourite of ours. This Raul Jacket is one of her more outlandish pieces from the new Spring/Summer collection, but still retains some of that retro appeal.

The coat's military influences combine with a bright coloured stripe pattern to create a daring sixties-inspired piece. The double breasted buttons and simple trench structure carry the print well, creating a head-turner that avoids looking tacky.

It's available online in the UK from Matches Fashion for £518.

Fontana Arte 1930s 0024 hanging lamp by Gio Ponti

Ponti_light

A stunning piece of modernist design is back to wow us in 2010 – the Fontana Arte 0024 hanging lamp by Gio Ponti.

Still looking ahead of its time, this 1931 design has a chrome-plated brass frame, transparent, tempered glass disks and a central diffuser in sandblasted glass. A pair of bulbs within creating that glowing light.

It's sized at 53 x 53cm and sells for £1,647. Not cheap, but relatively cheap compared to the larger (141.5 x 138.5cm) 0024XXL version – that retails for £22,090.

Tepper Jackson 60s-style passport holder

Tepper Jackson passport

Dreaming of some foreign travel to escape the winter blues? Well, in addition to the Agent Provocateur luggage highlighted earlier in the week, here's another retro travel accessory (though inspired by a different era) comes with this Tepper Jackson 60s-style passport holder

Like the Tepper Jackson flight bag featured a good while ago, it's got a bright Pop design. The black and white pattern, combined with the motif of the flower, looks like it could have come straight out of the Mary Quant boutique. It's practical too, with two side pockets and five card slots to hold any and all of your travel documents.

The holder is currently on sale for £14.95, reduced from £20. You can also get several accessories in a matching design, ranging from cosmetics bags to card holders.

Peter Blake fag packet prints: reduced in price until 22 January

Belga

Here's something of a bargain, though how much a bargain it is depends on both your definition of the word and the size of your wallet. Opus Art are selling a limited edition of Peter Blake screenprints, each print showing a different cigarette packet he collected on a 1956 trip through Europe.

The bargain bit comes with the news that, though the prints are normally priced at £2620.25, they're now selling for £1762.50 until 22 January – that's this Friday! If you've got a bit of cash you want to invest in a Blake print, it's a great saving. If that's still out of your price range, the web site has a wide selection of Blake screenprints available for browsing.

Classic 1950s Net and Ball Rug at the Southbank Centre

Net_ball

Long time readers might recall the Net and Ball wallpaper by Absolute Zero Degrees. Well, that same 1950s design is now available for your floor, specifically the Net and Ball Rug at the Southbank Centre.

No surprise really – the design was originally produced for the carpet at the Royal Festival Hall back in 1951, the work of original architects Peter Moro and Leslie Martin, designed as the visual representation of sound. But with a ball.

The rug is part of a range of items using the classic look, including tote bags, mugs, bowls, vases and of course, that wallpaper. The rug itself is 60 x 90cm, exclusive to the Southbank Centre and sells online for £79.

All are printed on premium archival lustre paper and come in pretty cheap – shipped out of the UK, they sell for just $16.90 (around £10) each.
