Village cushion set

Village cushion

More folk art-inspired goodness with this Village cushion set. The cushions look great individually in an attractively retro yellow and grey colour scheme but also fit together to form the landscape of a village. While some cushions show trees, roads and houses, there are also smaller cushions which feature only show things like a dog or a bird.

The cushions are the work of Rachael Cole, a Brooklyn based art director and illustrator. As they are handmade, they are quite pricey. A full village made of nine pillows costs $525 and individually they range from $145 for a large cushion down to $14 for the smaller animals.

Fiona Hewitt’s Pop Dumpling Dynasty print

Dumpling

Fiona Hewitt is the illustrator behind the Dumpling Dynasty whose kitsch kits are for sale throughout the UK (we featured their shoe shine kit early last year). The Boxbird store also has a selection of her prints online, including the Pop print shown above.

The giclee print, a fake advert for a sickly looking pink drink, features an overly cute boy and his loyal donkey and shows her usual beguiling mix of influences: everything from Chinese communist propaganda alongside advertising and packaging from the 40s and 50s. If you decide this look works for you, this particular print costs £200.

Helena Carringston Campervan Cushion

Campervancusion

Helena Carrington uses illustration and photography to produce distinctive designs for interior textiles and accessories and like many designers, she seems obsessed by images of vintage vehicles. This Campervan Cushion is typical of her work.

Measuring 40cm by 30cm, the cushion features an illustration of the favoured hippie van on the front in a choice of either pink or blue. The reverse is made from retro patterned fabric. The cushion costs £45.

Short Wool Jacket by Fever

Fever jacket

Finding a short and feminine jacket that's warm enough for winter can be something of a challenge, but wool is always a winner, and ties in nicely with some retro credentials. This Short Wool Jacket by Fever is a perfect small winter jacket with some 60s appeal.

As with a lot of Fever's designs, this takes some cues from a mid sixties fashion aesthetic, providing some mod appeal. A slimline and fitted jacket is given interest with an off-centre set of buttons to fasten with fit. The best touch, however, is the funnel collar, a real sixties touch, and the eye-poppingly bright red to finish.

Bicicletta Li126 – the limited edition Lambretta bicycle

Lambo1

Ignoring the clothing brand, there's no denying that the Lambretta name still carries some 60s-style cool, which probably means there will be no shortage of takers for the newly-launched Lambretta Bicicletta Li126, although the price might just hold it back a little.

Said to be modelled on Jimmy's Lambretta from Quadrophenia (although we're struggling to see the similarity), this 'city cruiser' is available as a male and female-friendly bike, each offering up Lambretta-like detailing, including badging on the frame, saddle, mudguards, tyres and grips plus a chrome finish, not to mention exclusivity. 500 are available, each with a certificate of authenticity. Number one is owned by Paul Weller apparently.

Verner Panton 1960s Fun 10DM mother of pearl pendant light

Verpan_pendant

Another Verner Panton reissue for 2009, the Fun 10DM mother of pearl pendant light, courtesy of Verpan.

It's another variation of the mother of pearl, this one being slightly more manageable than the larger chandeliers, with just four metal rings, each with the pendants hanging down for what's sure to be an impressive light and ceiling effect.

Price is £995 or if you want to go 'one louder', there's a bigger version with five metal rings, but for a much bigger price – £2,195. Both are available on pre-order for November delivery.
