Max Ingrand Fontana 1950s table light range

Ingrand

Designed back to the 50s, the Max Ingrand Fontana table light range is pretty much perfectly described as a timeless classic.

It could be from any era from the 1930s to the modern day, but the Fontana was designed by Ingrand back in 1958, a white-painted metal frame with a lamp shade and globe in white, satined, blown glass, finished off with a black power flex and switch.

Prices start at £322.99.

Mimosa coffee table from Umbra

Mimosa-coffee-table

The Mimosa table from Umbra is everything you want in a coffee table: good looking and practical. The unusual geometric shape combined with the dark wood colouring (created through an acacia veneer) gives the table a retro feel. The practical bit also comes courtesy of its shape which allows the space underneath the table to be used to store and display magazines.

Designed by Matt Carr for Umbra, the table costs £230 from Design55

Adidas Consortium Rod Laver trainers – yet another five new designs

Con1

Hang on, haven't we been here before? Back in August we featured five new designs for the Adidas Consortium Rod Laver trainers. Now, here we are in September with another five new styles.

To be fair, all are very different from the first batch, although of course, all are still based on the 1977 tennis shoe classic, so not a million miles away either. For your money, you get a canvas, suede or leather upper, partner branding on the heel, the Consortium 'Handshake' branding on the tongue and a shoe made in very limited numbers.

Partners this time are Solebox (pictured above), ACU (pictured over the page), Wood Wood, Goodfoot and D-Mop. All are priced at £70.

Retro-styled Sahara Wood armchair by Gunilla Allard

Sahara

A new design, but a very stylish one – the Sahara Wood armchair by Gunilla Allard.

Very reminiscent of a 1950s armchair, the Sahara Wood has walnut turned legs and arm rests with aluminium trim, along with white or red leather upholstery with contrast trim.

A future classic inspired by the past, it sells for 1,890 Euros.

Bits and Bobs tin from Cox & Cox

Bits and bob tin

It can be tricky to get photo storage boxes that aren't either too fussy or too minimalistic. Cox & Cox's Bits and Bobs tin just about hits the middle ground between the two. Featuring a suitably nostalgia school photograph on the lid, the rest of the tin is left plain. It measures 12 x 16cm so a fair bit of space for your favourite snaps and other mementos.

Can you put a price on memories? Arguably you can and, in this case, it's just £10.
