John Richardson’s maps from Caught by the River

Caught by the river prints

You may be aware of the book Caught by the River, an anthology of thoughts about water including pieces from the like of Irvine Welsh, Jon Savage, Bill Drummond and Edwyn Collins. The book also included some beautiful linocut 'maps' by John Richardson which are now being released as prints.

The prints more than stand up on their own merit and show the journey down several rivers: the River Lea and the Lower Thames pictured, as well as the River Cary, River Coquet, River Ogmore, River Wandle and Upper Dorset Stour. They fit perfectly into the mood for rediscovering the British countryside even if, as in the case of the River Wandle, the city is shown encroaching onto the landscape. Each print costs £80.

Fila Siro 80s-style knitted crewneck sweater

Fila_siro

No-one seems to be able to do 'old school' quite like Fila, perhaps because few have an archive as substantial as Filas. The Fila Siro knitted crewneck sweater is pretty typical of the current range.

Indeed, Fila gear is likely to even more prominent in the coming weeks, featuring heavily in Nick Love's The Firm, a loose remake of Alan Clarke's 1989 Brit flick focusing on football casuals, albeit a few years earlier in '84.

But back to the sweater (which does feature in the film), it's a premium knit with colour block detailing and the Fila F logo no the chest. Yours for £65.

Retro Minnie Mouse Watch

5769461313075_Red_l1

This Minnie Mouse Watch takes me back to my childhood, when I was the proud owner of a very similar timepiece.

The watch has a red strap and the time is told by Minnie’s oversized hands. It perhaps isn’t the height of style as it was in my school days, but it still retains a certain retro charm. There is also a Mickey watch with a brown strap and a gold face with an imprint of Mickey’s head.

The Minnie watch costs £30 from Urban Outfitters.

Graham & Brown 70s-style Boheme wallpaper

Boheme

Nothing quite screams the 1970s like a bold repetitive design – like the one you'll find on the Graham & Brown Boheme wallpaper range.

Yes, unmistakably of the day, the Boheme range is available in three colour options (including the green here), all with that quirky hexagonal design and a slight metallic finish.

Possibly not the kind of thing you would fill a room with in the modern era, but if you want a feature wall to really stand out, this is available for £30 per roll.
