Retro Film Illustrations Prints

Filmillustrations

I Love Retro are selling these Retro Film Illustration Prints, which make an interesting change from the standard film posters.

There are six films to choose from; Taxi Driver, To Kill a Mockingbird, Don’ Look Now, The Shining, Harold and Maude and Buffalo 66 (although the last one is more cult than retro, unless the 90s already count as retro).

The prints measure 11 inches by 16 and cost £24.95 each from I Love Retro.

Grey Silk Jumpsuit from Miss Selfridge

Jumpsuit
Jumpsuits are back in a big way, and they're most certainly a divisive piece of fashion fare. This Grey Silk version from Miss Selfridge is firmly rooted in an early eighties look, and provides the perfect something for lovers of the vintage versions.

Unlike many of the high street jumpsuit styles, this one keeps it classic and understated, with draping and cut creating shape. A high waist, pretty gold button accents and billowing bodice give a relaxed yet sharp look, ideal for a high class 80s look that eschews the clichés.

Get it now at Miss Selfridge for £60.

Suzy Smith Fabric Sash Bag

Suzysmith
There's any number of flambuoyant retro styled bags on the market at the moment to satisfy your more outlandish fashion whims, but for those moments when you're after something pleasantly twee this Suzy Smith bag certainly fits the bill.

Made from a subtly coloured tweed-style fabric, the additions of ribbon sash and patent handles are subtle enough to keep this bag classic. The boxy shape and mid size make this both pretty and practical, and a bag that has staying power in the style stakes.

Up & Down New York by Tony Sarg

Updownnewyork

Tony Sarg’s “Up & Down New York” was first published in 1926, but a new edition was printed in 2007, bringing this delightful book to a new audience.

“Up & Down New York” is a book of illustrations, in a similar vein to Miroslav Sasek’s “This is” city series, except Sarg’s drawings are typical of the 1920s style. The New York of this book is very much the city in its heyday, but many of the landmarks featured (Grand Central Station, Time Square, The Stock Exchange) are still pretty much the same now.

It is available from Amazon priced £10.35 for a new hardcover edition, although it is possible to buy it cheaper used and from Amazon sellers.

Wendt Design Dot 50 Cushions

Dotcushions

Wendt Design has an interesting (albeit pricey) take on the target symbol in the Dot 50 Cushions.

The cushions feature a target-like design but given a new lease of life by the use of an unusual palette of colours. A coal grey is combined with shades such as kiwi green, turquoise or violet to give a new twist to the design. The round cushions measure 50cm in diameter and are hand-printed on a felt made from a mixture of wool and alpaca.

They cost £150 and can be bought online from 95% Danish.
