Joe Colombo-inspired Colombo Two phone launches in Selfridges

Colombo2

I don’t think any home phone has been talked about quite so much as the Colombo Two. In fact, we’ve been talking about it since January this year. And after all the waiting, it’s finally being offered for sale – but only in Selfridges.

We don’t really know much more – the marketing team has gone very quiet on us (which isn’t a good sign), but the designer’s site does promise the phone will be in Selfridges this month. No price given though, but as the phone has now been adapted slightly (with an answerphone heading up a few improvements), we would expect the previously-mentioned £40 price tag to be well exceeded. And yes, we have checked the store’s online shop.

If you want to know more about the Joe Colombo-inspired space age phone (and its companion Colombo One), you can see more here.

Miss Selfridge Cord Trench

Miss_selfridge_trench

As the weather takes a turn for the worse, it’s time for the heavier fabrics to come out of the closet. Thankfully for most of us, that means much loved cold weather trends can make their comeback.

This distinctly seventies influenced cord trench coat from Miss Selfridge is a perfect Autumn/Winter addition to any wardrobe. With the double breasted design and pleated skirt, it’s a knock out shape in a firm favourite fabric.

It’s new in stores and online now for a very reasonable £65.

iRiver Mickey Mouse-shaped M Player now available in the UK

Mickey_mp3

We have previously featured the iRiver Mickey Mouse M Player on the site, but usually with the line ‘…available in Japan now’. Well, that’s no longer the case, with the super-cute MP3 player now available in the UK and for less cash than we expected.

This is an officially licensed Disney product, using the head of Mickey Mouse to store 1GB of your music, as well as offering a rechargeable battery (for up to nine hours playback per charge), earphones, a keyring to attach to your bag and an interesting way of controlling the volume and track order – just twist Mickey’s ears.

Three colours to choose from initially – white, black and pink – all selling for £29.99.

Ateljé Lyktan 1960s Bumling pendant light

Bumling

Not just a cool piece of industrial retro design, the Bumling pendant light also has a name guaranteed to raise a laugh.

It’s the work of Ateljé Lyktan, dating back to 1968, but now back on the market. Take your pick from the minimalist aluminium shade or soften things up with a white or red varnished version. No matter which you go for, it’s unlikely to date for many years – if ever.

Yours for around £265.82.

Trellick Tower Skirts

Trellicklargelozrubinepl

People Will Always Need Plates have joined forces with Clothkits for their latest product, Trellick Tower Skirts.

Moving away from their original product line of plates and crockery, they have moved into new territory of fashion, but still using their signature design of the Brutalist architecture landmark.

The skirt is available either as a sew-it-yourself kit or ready made item. The kit provides the material to make the skirt in any size between 8 and 20. For those less able with a sewing machine, the skirt can be made to order, but this will take an extra 14 days.
