Ototo rocket salt and pepper shakers

Rocket_shakers
If you’re on the look out for novelty condiments, but want something slightly more adult than the recently-featured Lego shakers, you might like these rocket-shaped salt and pepper shakers from Ototo.

Ok, they’re not that much more grown up, but shaped like a cartoon rocket and with NASA-style logos, these shakers are sure to attract attention at your next dinner party.

Sadly, we don’t know the price of them, with Monkey Business offering them mail order. But if you drop then a line and ask nicely, I’m sure they’ll sell you a set.

Fred Perry all black bowling shoes

Fredperry_bowling
I’m very much a ‘bowling shoes are for bowling’ man, but I know there’s a good few people out there who like the idea of wearing them out and about. And if that’s you, these Fred Perry all black bowling shoes look the best of what’s on the retail market.

Made by Swear for Fred Perry, the shoes are in black leather with contrasting piping and laces, with rubber botton and subtle laurel logo.

The one downside is the price – a rather hefty £90.

Bird Clothes Pegs

Bf281Using a tumble dryer is terribly bad for the environment, you know? So instead, why not hang your clothes out on a line? This in itself is a pretty retro move, but add a touch of European style with Bodie and Fou’s Bird Clothes Pegs.

These pegs are pretty hot items having been featured in the Telegraph and Grand Designs, so if its good enough for them…

Buy yours from Bodie and Fou at the special price of £23.40 for four boxes.

FunkyFloral Pepper Mill

3683_funkyfloral_peppermill_matchinAdd a dash of colour to your kitchen and a splash of pepper to your food with the FunkyFloral pepper mill from Green & Sanders.

Decorated with lime, blue and orange flowers, it comes with a matching sugar bowl and spoon to form a complete psychedelic condiment kit. I’ll warn you now, its pretty expensive, retailing at £109, the high price probably being on account of the design being hand-painted.

If you are a pepper lover with cash to spare, its available from Not on the High Street.

Villalescatole Birch Side Table

Bf248This Birch Side Table bears an uncanny resemblance to the Componibili Storage Unit featured not so long ago. It has the same sleek curves, just fashioned out of wood. These aren’t made by Kartell , but by Villalescatole whose designer Naoko Shintani certainly owes a debt to Anna Castellis Ferrieri.

Anyway, it is still a good looking piece of furniture and being made from wood, it will perhaps fit better in bedrooms as a bedside table than the original metal Componibili units.

Details can be found on the Villalescatole website or you can buy it from Bodie and Fou for around £160.

CushionloveydoveybigIf you liked the Dolly Bird cushions featured last month, then you’ll probably like Clare Nicolson’s Lovey Dovey cushion too.

Featuring her distinctive bird print on either a silk or cotton cushion, its got a cute seventies too it. The reverse of the cushion is made of a piece of vintage fabric, individually sourced, so each cushion is unique. The cotton version costs £60, and its £10 extra for silk.
