Retro faux suede table lamps

Freemans_suede
Some time back we featured the 50s-style Hip Haven Modwire lighting. In a similar style (well in shape anyway) and much cheaper are these retro faux suede table lamps.

The design is probably more 60s than 50s, with a shade of faux suede with "punched" pattern and in a choice of colours. There’s also a chrome base, with control just a matter of touching it.

And best of all, they’re cheap – you can pick one up for £14.99, with free delivery.

eBay Watch: JVC Videosphere TV

Videosphere
If someone made a top five of iconic TV sets, I’m absolutely certain that the list would contain the JVC Videosphere TV, like this one currently up for grabs on eBay.

It went into production by the company around 1970, with a design based around a space helmet. And as a round TV that wouldn’t sit easily on a flat surface, it has a way of hanging freely – a chunky metal chain, which is still with this model – a big bonus. Also complete are dials and aerial, with the body work also in original condition.

Right now (with a few days still to go) it’s going for £49.99. It’s likely to go for far more by the closing date.

New Shag prints – Alligator and Yawner

Shag_newprints

I’ve not checked the Shagmart store for a while, but looking today, I noticed that there’s three new Shag prints online and for sale – including the Alligator and Yawner prints pictured above.

The names pretty much sum up the prints – Alligator is a nine colour serigraph featuring a girl and her alligator, while Yawner is a girl, her cat and a baby devil. This time it’s an eleven colour serigraph. Also new is a rather cool LA Modern print – check that out at the site.

The two prints above are limited to 250 and come signed by the artist. Each sells for $110 (around £55).

Mix Tape Wonder Wallet

Mixtape_wallet
There seemed to be a lot of interest in yesterday’s Retro Cassette tote bag. So we thought we would feature another cassette-based product – this time, the Mix Tape Wonder Wallet from Tangled Up In Blue.

The cassette wallet is one of a range of designs, all with sections for money and change, plus separate areas for chequebooks and receipts, plus clear pockets for your cards. And it all snaps shut with a contrasting tab.

Sized at 8 inches x 4.5 inches, you can pick one up online for $32 (around £16).

Freemans 70s-style duvet set

Freemans_70s
You don’t always have to pay a high price for interesting design – you can find it the most unusual of places – like this 70s-style duvet set, which you can pick up from old-school mail order firm Freemans.

A big and bold design that screams the era, made from a cotton and polyester mix and available in two colour schemes – the blue one pictured here and a pink/orange combination. And here’s the best thing – if you buy one set, they send you a spare one absolutely free.

And buying one doesn’t cost much – prices start at just £4.99 (depending on the size of bed you choose).

Lee’s limited edition 101 1966 denims

Lee_1966

Fancy a denim jacket and jeans with a bit of heritage? Check out these Lee 101 1966 limited edition jeans and jacket.

Apparently a replica of the jeans/jackets that The Beatles wore in a 1966 Scandinavian photo shoot, they’re limited to just 1001 pieces. But there’s more, the ones at Manchester’s Oi Polloi (and available online) are part of a separate small batch made of dry/raw denim – the way they would have been presented back in the day. But still taken out of the limited run’s count.

The slim fit 101Z jeans have 5 pockets, zip fly, two tone stitching and original badging. They’re also numbered and boxed. The 101J jacket also has the vintage details and badging – and is also numbered. Not cheap, with the jeans at £139.99 and the jacket at £159.99 – but who can put a price on exclusivity?
