Schweppes_bar Bars are back – and there’s some very stylish barware available to sit on them – like this Michael Young retro barware range for Schweppes.

Designer Michael Young’s work is displayed in the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre Museum and was picked out by Terence Conran as the most inspiring British designer. So we’re talking some pedigree. The range for Schweppes screams Art Deco cool with its mix of glass and chrome, ideal for mixing the drinks or just impressing friends and visitors.

It’s available to buy now for £150 from Selfridges. But hurry – it’s a limited edition range.

Unlike the usual minimalist items you find on its shelves, the company has gone big and bold with the design here, with a look that screams the 70s, complete with velour surface.

Available in a choice of black (above), red or green, prices start at a very reasonable £11.

For years, washing machines have been classed as "white goods" because they were always plain and white. That’s changed over the years with colourful and retro machines from the likes of Smeg – and now LG has updated its range with the Steam Direct Drive washing machines.

There’s a definite retro feel to the look of these limited edition machines, which were produced in conjunction with the Designer’s Guild. The machines also feature a Dual Spray system, which sprays hot steam and water to improve washing performance and they’re eco-friendly – using 35% less water and 21% less energy than traditional washers.

The limited edition LG Steam Direct Drive washing machines are available at Harrods and John Lewis, check with your local store for the current price.

We’ve already covered the Zoomer Scooter and the Balance Scooter – now here’s another option if you want to get your kids scootering at an early age – the Razor Pocket Mod scooter.

The makers describe it as "reminiscent of the classic Mod-era Italian Vespa". I wouldn’t go that far, but it’s certainly got a hint of a vintage scoot, as well as 12-inch pneumatic tyres, rear suspension, a top speed of 15mph and up to 10 miles riding from a single charge.

Sadly, it’s only available in a girly pink. Available now for ages 12+, it retails for £249.99.
