The sun is out, the sky is blue and our minds turn to summer sports of cricket and of course, tennis, not to mention the clobber associated with it. Like this classic Adidas Originals Ivan Lendl track top.
First released in 1982 as a twist on the Superstar track top and forever associated with the Czech tennis legend, the top has the distinctive Argyle print detailing, the period Adidas branding and a Trefoil zip detail.
Limited numbers as you would expect, available at a price of £69.
As some of you might recall, the retailer Size? is selling classic, limited edition Adidas Manchester trainers and tracktops for its 10th anniversary, some of which were sold instores over the weekend, the rest being sold online this morning.
If, like me, you were one of the people trying to buy some, you'll probably have found a frustrating and in the end, almost shambolic procedure. Being informed there was no stock at the end of the billing procedure (after previously securing some online), even getting a cancellation email after an order was confirmed. Not good at all.
But where there's demand, there is always supply – and a number of the lucky few have decided to stick their (not very) prized possessions straight onto the eBay website. So if you have money to spare, sellers are already asking anything between £100 and £300 for a pair of the £69.99 trainers. Yes, really. If you want to browse what's currrently there, follow our link to the trainers currently being sold.
We mentioned the Germany version the other day, but now the Adidas Samba England edition trainers are available to buy, as are other qualifying nations.
The England is above, a limited edition in premium leather, along with a red, white and blue colourway, gold Samba detailing and the England pin badge. They sell for £55 online.
The Brazil is pictured over the page, also limited, it has yellow and green detailing, plus a Brazil national pin badge. They also sell for £55. Check out the Adidas site for a France and Italy versions too – the Italy in a very tasty blue.
According to Adidas, this vintage football bag goes back 'several decades'. How many? We don't know, but we like the cut of its faux leather cloth.
Good for a sports bag or a weekend bag, it offers up a large main storage area, side pocket, bottom zip compartment and a 'Beautiful Game' print inside.
Following on from the vintage-style track tops comes another World Cup limited edition from Adidas – the Adidas Samba World Cup Edition.
yes, the 1962 football shoe is back in classic black and white, offering up a premium leather finish with a suede toe, white contrast sole and gold branding, along with a German pin badge detail. That's because this is the German edition, the first of a series that will also include the likes of England and Brazil, all in very limited numbers.
The German shoe is available now for £55. Look out for the rest soon, presumably at the same price and looking much the same. Another image over the page.
Adidas has plenty of gear out for the forthcoming World Cup, headed up by these Adidas Originals vintage-style World Cup track tops.
Some are inpsired by the past, others, like the one above (and the one over the page) are replicas from days gone by. The ones we have featured are from the World Cup in 1982, specifically Italy and France, both with the country badge, contry name to reat, Adidas detailing, angled pockets and long collar.
Check out France over the page or see all the range on the Adidas site, prices around the £60 mark.
