Sanderson 150th anniversary cushions at John Lewis

Sanderson swallow cushion

We've already featured the exhibition celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sanderson. You can now purchase some of their classic design for your home with these anniversary cushions

John Lewis is selling three cushions, each covered in a reissued Sanderson fabric that's been reproduced from designs held in their extensive archive. The light and fresh design of the Soaring Swallows cushion shown dates from the 1930s, while the other two cushions use the Tulips design from 1929 and the Rose Moss pattern from the 1950s – both floral designs that look typically 'Sanderson'.

The Soaring Swallow cushion costs £35.

Maisie duvet set from John Lewis

Maisie duvet

It's got a design that looks like it's straight from the 70s but this Maisie duvet set from John Lewis is actually a contemporary design.

Certainly not the duvet to go for if you want a calm and neutral look in your bedroom, this design has a strong folk influence and uses birds, flowers and other trailing plants to create its distinctive pattern. The retro feel is enhanced by the blue and green against white colour scheme.

The duvet cover costs between £35 to £65 depending on size while pillow cases are £15 to £18.

Sanna Annukka at nineteenseventythree

Sanna combo

We've featured many of the designs of Sanna Annukka previously on this site, both her products for Marimekko and things she's put out under her own name. Here's a new, affordable way to buy her work with the nineteenseventythree range.

Greetings cards are the first products from the range to be released but it'll eventually include wrapping paper and postcards too. As evident from the cards shown, the designs all display Annukka's trade mark retro folk style, using the bird motifs we know so well. The cards are all made from 100% recycled consumer waste and use gold foil to add an extra bit of glitz to the otherwise restrained colour palette of the designs.

The cards cost £2 each.

Fuff City Espresso cup

Fuff city

Fans of 1960s architecture may like to sip their coffees from this Fuff City espresso cup.

The cup is decorated in a panoramic illustration of what they describe as 'traditional British landscape' which translates to high rises and concrete buildings. If you look a bit closer, you can even see the Trellick Tower rising in the background. The scene is topped off with an image of a typically British bird – the pigeon that crops up on all of Fuff City's wares.

The company also sells an estuary design with a similar look. This cup and saucer will set you back £12.

Charley Harper influenced Bärbar tray from Ikea

Barbar tray

An attractive new product from Ikea that manages a whole lot of cheep on the cheap. This Bärbar tray is covered with colourful images of birds that has more than a little look of Charley Harper about it.

It measures 33cm square and costs just £4.99. Sadly, you'll have to brave your local store to pick one up as it doesn't seem to currently be available through their website.
