Mini Bobo retro-style table lamp at B&Q

Bobo

Another retro gem we spotted at our local B&Q – this Mini Bobo table lamp.

It's a rather smart 70s-style design, in a classic 'eyeball' shape on a matching stand, which also allows you to adjust that light wherever you want it.

If you're not keen on the chrome, there's also a black or a white finish, with all selling at th3e same price – a very affordable £6.98 online.

B&Q Tecton – giant Anglepoise-style lamp for your living room

Bq_angle

Some of you may remember the Giant Anglepoise 1227 lamp, which was produced to celebrate the company's 70th anniversary. The asking price was £1,660. Thankfully B&Q has done something along similar lines for a fraction of the price with the Tecton floor lamp.

Ok, it;s not quite as big and doesn't wheel around the room like the original giant Anglepoise, but the it does still offer that look, standing 170cm (approaching 6ft) tall, with the ability to direct that large shade and its light pretty much where you want via the adjustable metal frame.

Black and white are the colour options and if you haven't got a van, you can get it delivered to your home by ordering online. Price? That's a very affordable £79.

Kelly Hoppen Hicks wallpaper for B&Q

Hoppen B&Q

Another big name working on a high street budget, Kelly Hoppen has teamed up with B&Q for a new wallpaper range. The designs are quite varied in their style but one that leaps out is the Hicks wallpaper

The name seems to be no coincidence as the geometric shapes of the design are obviously strongly influenced by some of David Hicks' looks in the 1960s and 70s, such as his hexagonal wallpaper. Hoppen has given a contemporary feel to her design by playing with different textures of paper with both of the two colourways available for this design, as shown in the image above, using a silver effect.

The paper costs £19.98 a roll (compared to a reissue of an original Hicks design which will cost you around £50 a roll).
