Classic Faber and Faber covers at Art Meets Print

Faber good dishes

A while ago we wrote about Faber Firsts, new covers of classic Faber and Faber novels, done in styles that echoed the company's 80 years of publishing. Now you can go back to some of their original book jacket designs with these prints available at Art Meets Print

They've pulled out some gems from the Faber and Faber archive to reproduce, including this jacket design for 'Good Dishes from Tinned Foods' by Ambrose Heath, just one from the extensive food and drink section. There's also a selection of poetry covers available, featuring the original Pentagram designs.

Prices depending on the size of your print and whether you choose to have it on canvas or paper. They start at £34.95 for a 30 x 20cm print on canvas of one of the designs and go up to £299 for a 90 x 137.5cm canvas.

Peep Toe Wedges by Castaner

Wedges

While closed-toe Mary Janes and strappy leather heels are the ideal retro Winter shoe, there's none more perfect for summer than a canvas wedge. Ideal for getting a hint of seventies style in an instant, these Peep Toe Wedges from Castaner are a great option.

The colour combination of cream, brown and navy work to create a relaxed retro palette, with a mix of fabrics creating a unique twist. The peep toe and slingback style create a classic shape, along with a wide wedge heel that's both comfortable and instantly evocative of a summer 70s feeling.

Get them online in the UK from Matches Fashion for £148.

Adidas Stan Smith II trainers get seasonal canvas finish

Stan1

The Adidas Stan Smith has been doing the rounds since 1965, appearing in a host of different styles during that 45-year period. So it's no surprise to see another for summer, specifically the Adidas Stan Smith II trainers in canvas.

Essentially it's still the same tennis shoe turned casual classic, but this time a canvas upper has been added, a choice of white or a more bold dark blue, along with the perforated three stripe branding, adidas branding on the leather heel piece, pinstripe tongue plus a vulcanised midsole.

Dreamline cruise canvas by Marten Rijnen

Cruise poster

If all the chaos caused by an erupting Icelandic volcano makes you long for a more glamorous age of travel, you may be interested in this Dreamline cruise canvas by Marten Rijnen

It's a completely contemporary design but obviously harks back to travel posters of the 1920s and 30s. The striking design is printed onto canvas measuring 60cm wide by 80cm high. For those less bothered about recent flight disruption, there's also a twin design featuring a plane.

It's sold by Made.com: we featured their Spoon coffee table last week. Like with the table, to get their low prices you have to wait for the product to be made after ordering – in this case a wait of 10 to 15 weeks.

The canvas costs £39.

Fancy a splash of a bygone era on your wall? You might want to investigate this art deco-style Martini artwork at John Lewis.

An old advertising poster from the 1930s recreated and sold exclusively at John Lewis, the image is printed directly onto canvas, with a choice of print size and the option of a frame.

Obviously that means prices vary too, but the entry-level price for the 40 x 50cm print is £50.
