More often seen with a lightweight nylon upper, this reissue of the Nike Cortez Suede Vintage trainers offers a more premium take on a classic.
We have featured the Cortez in the past, but in a nylon finish or with a leather upper. Right now though, you can get the Nike Cortez trainers in suede.
A no-nonsense 1970s classic is back with a new finish – the Nike Cortez trainers.
Well, we say it's a new finish – it is and it isn't. The new material is a lightweight nylon upper, but the colour scheme is apparently an original college colourway. Specifically, that's white with a touch of red and blue, plus an oversized 'swoosh'.
Available online, a pair retails for £49.
Nike is all too often overshadowed by other trainer labels on these pages (usually for good reason). But we do love the latest reissue of the classic Nike Cortez trainers.
A lightweight shoe that dates back to 1972 under the original name of the Tiger Corsair, it now gets a back to basics reissue in a light nylon finish and in a sky blue with white details. But there;s still room for the contrast jagged sole, round toe piece and trademark 'swoosh'.
Available on pre-order now, £50 is the price you'll need to pay.
