USB Retro Mobile MP3 Player – shaped like an 80s brick mobile phone

Brick

Is it a mobile phone from the 1980s? Or is it an MP3 player? Well, as the name suggests, the USB Retro Mobile MP3 Player from Brando is the latter, but shaped like the former.

Yes, shaped like a 'brick' phone, it actually plays your MP3/WMA files, holds a microSD card for storage and hooks up to your PC via USB. There's even an FM radio and rechargeable battery to finish things off.

What do all those buttons do? No idea, but you can have fun finding out. The price is $23 from Brando directly, which is a paltry £14.66.

Fila Dordoni vintage-style bomber jacket

Dordoni

I'm not overly keen on some of the Fila reissues from the 70s and 80s, but this Fila Dordoni bomber jacket does have an understated charm.

The badge and matching zip pull make this unmistakably a Fila item, but aside from that, it's a smart, vintage-style, lightweight, waterproof bomber jacket complete with contrast knitted cuffs, collar and hem.

Limited numbers available, all selling for a reasonable £69.

Timex 80 Metal Jumbo retro-styled watch

Jumbo

We have featured the Timex 80 before, but now there's an added twist – the Timex 80 Metal Jumbo watch.

The difference? Well, the clue is in the name – this is a 'Jumbo' version of the retro-styled digital watch, with a metal casing in a gold or silver finish (colour, not previous metal) and with all the essential functions – time, date, alarm and stopwatch.

There's also an Indiglo backlight, a neon plastic case and water resistance. Yours for £69.

For sale: Early 80s-designed ‘High-Tech’ house in Crawley Down, West Sussex

Crawley1

I don't know what to make of this. A touch of midcentury, a touch of the 'Bond lair', but overall, this early 80s-designed house on Crawley Down, West Sussex is actually associated with the 'High-Tech' style of architecture that was pioneered by Norman Foster, Richard Rogers and others in the 1970s.

You really need to see all the images to appreciate what a striking property this is, both inside and out. The work of Brian Cooper and completed in the early 1980s, it sits on a secluded 5.5 acre plot near the village of Crawley Down in West Sussex and is sold either as the existing 4-bedroom house with potential to be extended, or more worryingly, as a demolition project should someone want the land for a new house. Yes, really.

1980s Puma Fast Rider running shoe returns as everyday trainer

Fast1

It's not quite the track shoe of days gone by, but the Puma Fast Rider still packs the look in its latest reissue.

First seen in the 1980s as a running shoe with a spike sole, it now has a multi pimpled outsole for extra shock absorption, which means it's still a useful bit of footwear for running and training.

Of course, it now has that retro appeal too, with a suede and nylon mix upper, a sweeping leather Puma formstripe and Fast Rider branding on the side. The colourway above is described as navy/dandelion and if that's a bity bold, see over the page for the navy/silver mix. Both variations are priced at £49.99.
