Mini creates retro-style electric scooter for the modern-day mod

Scoot1

According to the Der Spiegel site, BMW's Mini offshoot is moving into the scooter market. Specifically the electric scooter market – and with a retro twist.

As you can see from the image above, the company has already given the 'mod treatment' to one of its new bikes, described as 'a new generation of scooters', which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. The mod version is described as the 'Anglophile' and is being pitched at 'modern-day mods'. Eco-friendly ones anyway.

Bon-Bon Coat by J Crew

Woolcoat

Heritage style fabrics can instantly transform a simple item into something classic and expensive looking. Simplicity and chic are often the key to an effortless retro look, shown here in this Bon-Bon Wool Blend Coat by US brand J Crew.

The moss green shade enhances the richness of the fabric, providing a textural look that contrasts with the basic cut. The blanket coat style provides a late sixties-look military influence, taking a very masculine edge into womenswear.

It's now available from Net-a-Porter for £335.

Green Scallop Tunic from Dorothy Perkins

Scallops

Bright pastel shades are often a hit in the Spring and Summer months on the high street, with many colours evoking a retro era instantly. This Scallop Dress from Dorothy Perkins has an immediately vintage look thanks to a very mid-sixties shade of pale green, not to mention some stylish detailing to boot.

The shift shape, in this dress, is simplistic enough for a 60s look, with the scallop cut-out detailing evoking a somewhat Quant-esque feeling through its graphic and inventive shape. The silhouette treads the line between femininity and androgyny with ease thanks to a mini-hemline that's offset by a high neck.

Get it now from Dorothy Perkins for £30.

Pashley vintage-style Picador tricycle

Tricycle

Think the tricycle was something purely for early childhood? Not according to Pashley, which offers three tricycles, including the Picador tricycle.

This vintage-style three-wheeler is geared very much for adults, the kind of adults who see cycling as a pleasant, eco-style pastime rather than extreme exercise obviously. You'll struggle to keep up with the pack at your local cycling club with one of these.

For your money, you get a tubular steel frame, 20-inch wheels with alloy rims, non-slip pedals, all-weather brakes, 'comfort' elastomer-strung saddle, a rear wire basket and an optional front wicker basket. Three colour options, prices start at £675.
