Fifties style silk blouse by Oasis

Image1xl

Polka dots are something that floats in and out of style with the fashion scene, but they never lose their appeal as far as rockabilly is concerned. A classic staple of retro 50s style, they’re an easy and irresistible way to get the look.

This silk blouse from Oasis is a great piece of high street retrospective fashion. With the pussy bow bib neck giving an extra nod to the fifties, this would be perfect with a hip hugging wiggle skirt.

Thanks to the rather luxury silk material, it’s retailing at £45 from ASOS.

Official licensed fac 51 Hacienda t-shirts

Hacienda1

The Hacienda is long gone (replaced by an ugly block of flats bearing the same name), but nostalgia for the club grows by the year – with these officially licensed fac 51 Hacienda t-shirts likely to find a substantial market.

Not just official licensed either, officially worn too – New Order’s Peter Hook had one on his back during the recent Manchester vs Cancer charity gig. Four designs initially available (see over the turn for the other two), all with familiar Peter Saville artwork, all limited edition (once they’re gone, they’re gone) and printed onto 100 per cent cotton shirts.

You can pick them up online via the site below, selling for £29.99 each.

Space Invaders Scarf from Wildcat Designs

Space_scarf

It’s cold outside, so a good time to sell or indeed buy a Space Invaders Scarf.

The work of Wildcat Designs (via the Etsy site), it’s made of 100 per cent Merino lambswool, mixing a dark background with large coloured aliens and measuring in at 14 x 185cm. It’s even eco-friendly – with all waste from making the scarf going into another Wildcat project.

Sold in limited quantities, you can pick one up for $50 (around £25).

Being based in Manchester, we are acutely aware of the need for good (and stylish) rainproof clothing, with a number of wind cheaters already featured on the site. But this Fila Vintage Four Stripe wind cheater is probably my favourite right now.
