Modernist Kitchens Barbican Estate Tea Towel from Things You Can Buy
We've featured plenty of view of the outside of London's Barbican Estate in the past. Now we get a glimpse inside thanks to the Modernist Kitchens Barbican Estate Tea Towel from Things You Can Buy.
The design by Stefi Orazi shows one of the original kitchens from inside the estate which was built in 1960s and 70s and intended to put forward some of the best ideas of Modernist living. In terms of the kitchen, for the Barbican these were small, artificially-lit spaces designed by yacht designers Brooke Marine to be as streamlined as possible.
This tea towel shows the clean lines of the kitchen, printed in four colours. The Cathrineholm kettle is an especially nice touch.
It's yours for £12.

Wow. That brings back memories. My mother used to look after two girls living in the barbican and I remember the kitchen there as I was impressed by the waste garbage disposal unit!
