The Driade Costes Easy Chair dates back to 1985, but it wouldn’t look out of place in an interior with a midcentury influence.
It is made from black tubular steel with a shell of curved plywood in a mahogany finish. It costs £639, but the hefty price tag shouldn’t come as a surprise when we say it is a Philippe Starck design – and it is probably old enough now to be described as a classic.
