Gubi

If the name Greta Grossman is familiar, it might be because of the stunning Cobra Lamp which was reissued last year. In 2012, there's another reissue on the market, the equally stunning 62-Series desk, which has been reintroduced by Gubi.

Confusingly, the desk doesn't actually date from 1962, it was actually designed by Greta Grossman back in 1952, straddling both the midcentury and modernist fields.

An eye-catching, but quite minimalist design, the desk is also all about quality, not least with its use of natural American walnut, which is used in conjunction with glossy black laminate and powder-coated metal.

It doesn't come cheap at £3,759, but this is something to keep and treasure forever. If you can't wait for one to hit the UK stores (we can't see it as yet), you can order directly from Gubi for €4599, which is also selling a range of matching cabinets.
