Sixties Fashion Walford

You might think this subject matter had been well-covered by now but we're still recommending this new book on the styles of the 60s, Sixties Fashion: From Less is More to Youthquake by Jonathan Walford

The book explores all the various changes that happened in fashion over this decade: styles, materials, markets and so on. But one of the reasons this book has whetted our enthusiasm is the author, who is well-known for his excellent book on a different decade, Forties Fashions.

In addition, this book looks at the decade from a more global perspective, so as well as London, Paris and the States, Walford includes fashions in Hong Kong, Madrid and Rome too. With over 300 illustrations in the book, there's bound to be some fresh sartorial inspiration to be found.

It's a nice price for a hardback book too – you can pick one up for £19.99 on Amazon
