George Nelson-style Orbital wall clock by Newgate

You are probably familiar with the Vitra Ball Clock by George Nelson, as it's a design classic and something of a midcentury icon from 1948. You might even think that the Orbital wall clock by Newgate pictured here was that clock.

It looks incredibly like it. There are some subtle different with the hands and a different in colour, but this is a clock that offers the 'look' without the cost of the official Vitra reissue.

The one here is sized at 65 x 65cm in reality (so bigger than the Nelson original), with an acrylic centre and balls, plus metal wire spokes. It is battery powered and available in the two colour options here. If you want the black, the Newgate site has it for £120.

If you want the cream, it is actually in the sale at House of Fraser, selling for just £96.
