One of our favourite finds of late was the Mon Oncle BBQ, which looked amazing, but was so pricey. This Waitrose 1950s-style portable barbecue might be an affordable substitute.

Ok, it doesn’t pack down like a vintage suitcase (which is the selling point of the Mon Oncle), but it does have a classic retro look and the same functionality.

By that, we mean this is portable, with supporting metal legs to prevent it burning surfaces and has air holes to help control the temperature. You just need the coals and the food.

A great thing to have on hand if you are camping or just spending the day outdoors, it sells for £40.
