Looking for something affordable and (dare I say it) eye-catching for your home? Check out this Eye Clock at Urban Outfitters.
I know. A clock design based on the eye. This is usually the domain of George Nelson, specifically with the George Nelson Eye Clock by Vitra, which even in the sale is £271 at Heals. But don’t let me put you off that if you have the money. It’s a work of art.
But if money is a little tighter, this retro design might well be up your street. It certainly works for me. This is the kind of playful piece that would work well in a midcentury modern and particularly a 1960s interior. A pop art piece for a pop-art era.
The background is made of MDF with the eye designed painted on and detailed with metal and plastic for the hands/timekeeping. It is sized at 39.5cm x 21.8cm x 3cm and presumably needs a battery or two for power, although details of that aren’t listed. It’s usually an AA, but don’t quote me on that.
The price? An affordable £35.
