Originally just one design, this much-loved piece has now turned into a mini range. The Ronda 1960s-style vinyl cabinets at La Redoute. In the sale now too.

It was originally part of the 1960s-inspired Ronda furniture range, which was one of the most popular things I have featured in the past and well worth checking out if you want something with an authentic midcentury look at a reasonable price, both for the living room and the bedroom.
The range has been a mainstay of the La Redoute furniture collection for some time, with the vinyl cabinet a later addition. A hugely popular one too. Possibly one of the most popular designs I have written about in 15 or so years. So some accolade.

Also, let us just consider that this is a vinyl cabinet, which goes to show how far vinyl has come in the last few years. No one on the high street would even consider making something like this just five years ago. But here we are, a record storage unit from a (fairly) mainstream retailer. The original is a lovely one too.

Style-wise, this is hard to beat. The walnut finish, the high sides, the contrasting coloured panels and the tapered legs. Everything you want to see in this kind of design. But the functionality is its killer feature.
As you can see, this has three large compartments for storing your records, one LP rack for easy access and a long shelf to add in anything extra you need, whether that’s extra media units or somewhere to stick some singles. Your choice.

Of course, the surface area leaves space for your record player too, which makes this a great all-in-one.

I suspect the attention this design has has led to the company considering the new designs. And they both have appeal for very different reasons. Got a modest amount of space and vinyl? La Redoute has a vinyl rack for you. Looking to house more vinyl? Yes, you guessed it, a design is waiting for you.

You can see both of the recent additions here. Both keep the 1960s/midcentury modern aesthetic as you would expect. It’s just the functionality that gets a tweak. The mini one is as cute as a button, offering just enough room for your deck and amp (if needed) plus a modest selection of records. All without losing the retro charm.

And yes, there is a bigger version too, which could work as a bookcase/storage unit too. But the proportions are designs for your 12-inch vinyl records.

You get the same midcentury modern look and room for your player on top but with the bonus of six large storage areas for your vinyl. So lending itself well to a larger collection and, again, without compromising on style.

The hard bit is deciding which one you want. Although to make it easier, they are now in the sale.
The original Ronda design is still available, and if you want one, it originally sold for £399. But right now it is half price – yes you can get one for just £199.
If you want the larger unit, that officially sells for £499, but if you add in the code SAVE you get a big discount of 40 per cent, with the price going down to around £299 if my maths is correct.
The small unit is £215, and again, if you use the code SAVE you get 40 per cent off. That takes it to around £129, which is a steal.

Of course, I have done a top 60 record storage units round-up, just in case you want to check out other options for your LPs and singles. There are plenty of good ones right now.
Looking for a unit just like this…do you think they will sell it again???
