With a storm brewing outside, it seems like the right time to mention these limited edition target design umbrellas by This Is Now.

Although I would be loathe to stick one up in the air until the strong winds have dropped. A stiff breeze is the enemy of most umbrellas, no matter how well they have been constructed.

But if it’s a shower or a sudden downpour without the gale-force winds, get one of these up, though, to keep you nice and dry. Or just invest in one to look good even in the lightest of showers.

I have featured numerous interesting umbrella designs in the past, including the David Bowie range at London Undercover, The Beatles range from the same maker, and a ridiculously retro floral design from Urban Outfitters. But nothing featuring a target.

As such, this ‘Mod umbrella’ might well have a target market (sorry) that wants to mix style with functionality on a rainy day.

You can choose from two limited-edition target designs and two sizes—the golf umbrella or the smaller folding umbrella. All are exclusive to the maker/seller, with a fibreglass and steel construction, manual opening and shutting for the golf umbrella, auto opening for the folding design, and, of course, differences in sizing: 95mm for the folding and 135mm for the golf.

If you want one, get in quickly, as some designs are already running low. Prices seem reasonable, with the folding umbrella retailing for £15 and the golf umbrella selling for £20.
