Orange-eggcup-63-p
Having recently mentioned Hannah Turner’s ceramic birds, now seems like a good time to show her Birdy Egg Cups.

These have similar quirky retro looks to her classic ceramic birds, but with the added functionality of being able to serve up your boiled eggs in it. There are four designs in the collection; red, orange or blue (decorated with feather/leaf patterns) or green (decorated with a circles pattern).

Each egg cup costs £24 and can be bought from Hannah Turner’s website.

Unto This Last Chest of Drawers

WalnutHDi
This Chest of Drawers is one of several storage solutions from Unto This Last, which are made to look more interesting with their retro-style curved corners.

The company takes its name from a book by John Ruskin advocating a return to the local craftsman workshops. They work on the principle of offering craftsmanship at mass produced prices by avoiding industrial fittings, and cutting down on transportation and packaging costs. The downside of this is that they will only deliver within in London. The walnut version pictured here costs £450, or you can get a white version for £370.

Visit the Unto This Last website for full details.

Small Circles Coffee Table

Il_430xN_147056419
The Small Circles Coffee Table is one for our readers in the USA, as it is made in Portland and shipping it further a field seems unlikely.

Michael Arras makes these one-of-a-kind cocktail/coffee tables by joining together small pieces of high-grade birch plywood into one whole table. The one shown here is stained a cinnamon colour, but there are another 16 colours if this doesn’t suit.

The table costs $399 and can be ordered online from Michael Arras’ Etsy Store.

Crosley Classic Kitchen Phone

Crossleyphone
The Crosley Classic Kitchen Phone is a tribute to the mid-century telephones designed by Henry Dreyfuss.

This wall-mounted phone was originally designed to allow consumers to walk with the phone while cradling it on their shoulder and Dreyfuss undertook an extensive survey of human faces to determine the average distance between the mouth and ear. The Crosley design has incorporated these ideas, but updated the phone with push buttons, redial function and pulse/tone modes.

The phone costs $54 from Urban Outfitters, although sadly it is can only be delivered within the USA.
