New Keep Calm retro prints – If You Can’t Stand The Heat and Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

The craze for vintage-styled artwork based around old phrases continues, with the Keep Calm Gallery launching two new prints around two old pieces of advice –  If You Can’t Stand The Heat and Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining.

Both are the work of Lucas and Hayley, as well as being hand-pulled screenprints, printed on 100 per cent recycled off-white paper. And both are exactly the same size – 23.4 x 16.5 inches.

No word on these being limited editions, so we’ll presume not. You can pick either up for £18.

Timex 80 retro digital watch in metallic silver and gold

A couple of months back, we featured the Timex 80 digital watch range, which at the time was only available in selected retailers and certainly not in the UK. Well, now they are available in the UK (and the US too I presume), with the mainly plastic bodied watches now being joined by a version in metallic silver and gold.

We did briefly mention the metal versions last time out, but we didn’t have images. Now (as you can see) we have. Both feature all of the basic functions including time, date, stopwatch feature, alarm and the indigo backlight, along with a matching stainless steel strap that stretches to fit your wrist.

Both are sold in an 80s-style neon plastic, slide top box and come with a two-year guarantee. You can pick one up for £55.

Gabicci Vintage sports jacket

A 1970s design re-worked in an 80s style – you can’t much more retro than this Gabicci Vintage sports jacket.

According to sellers Stuarts of London (who have dug up a decent amount of ‘as new’ stock), the cotton jacket was originally introduced in 1973, with the black and white variations shown here dating to the 1980s. And doesn’t it just show with that ‘of the day’ geometric front design, coupled with elasticated waist and cuffs plus full zip fastening.

Stock is limited, with the price at £65.

Ellipse art deco-style bookcase

Certainly not for everyone, but if you happen to be living in an art deco world or a 1920/30s-themed home, the Ellipse bookcase could be the focal point you need.

It’s made of sold Chinese elm and veneer, with the shelves covered in unrolled bamboo and the three drawers underneath offering a good place to hide your bits and pieces. But they’re very much secondary to those bold circular arches, which will catch the eye and show off your prizes possessions.
