We got an email today from LA-based designer Dave Bravenec, tipping us off about his latest project – the design for the Mod wines by Grateful Palate Imports.
As you can see, the bottles (and see over the page for cartons) produced for the Australian wine company feature a stylised, almost psychedelic image of a mirrored-up scooter, with the slogan 'I don't want to drink any other wine, that's why I'm a Mod!' on the rear.
In the first instance, the wines will be distributed on bottles of both red and white, with varations of the design heading to various other vintages over the coming months. We think it's Australia and the US-only right now, but it will eventually hit the UK. if it makes it to Tesco's 3 for £10, we'll be buying it by the box load. Another great retro-themed gem for the office – this Lego-style Building Block calculator.
It's Lego-style rather than being official Lego merchandise, but the influence is obvious – with the buttons shaped like Lego dimples, while the base is the brick. Not just novelty either – this plastic calculator is as capable as any other basic calculator of working out your everyday expenses.
US-only as far as we can see, with pre-orders now being taken for August, priced at $27(around £16.50).

Designed by Ankul Assavaviboonpan for Propaganda, this office accessory is obviously influenced by Pac-Man, with the stapler able to gobble up your paper, sticking in the staples as it goes.

We've featured the work of Alan Fletcher previously, and for those of you who don't know he is one of the most influential figures in British graphic design, so much so that he had a retrospective at the Design Museum in 2006/7. This art work Maze is a chance for you to own what could be a unique piece.
This rare piece features a large maze design printed on 1mm alumnium sheet with fine metallic lines creating the maze pattern, and mirrored black background. It says on the piece that it was designed by Alan Fletcher of Fletcher/Forbes/Crosby (which later became Pentagram).
The work is on eBay and is a sized at 51 x 51cm and is good condition and is available for a buy it now price of £350, although it is also possible to make an offer so you never know you might get it a bit cheaper.
