Absolute Zero Degrees and Courtauld Gallery introduce the Omega wallpaper

Omega

Something that's certain to appeal to anyone with an interest in early 20th century British design – Omega wallpaper, produced by Absolute Zero Degrees in conjunction with the Courtauld Gallery.

It's been inspired by the work of the Omega Workshops and produced to coincide with a new exhibition at the Courtauld, Beyond Bloomsbury: Designs of the Omega Workshops 1913-19, which runs from 18th June to 20th September 2009. For the uninitiated, the Omega Workshops were a forward-thinking design collective, producing art, design and textiles for the more affluent end of London society.

The wallpaper above has been inspired by surviving works, printed with waterbased inks in the UK on paper from sustained and certified forests. And although it looks complex, it's apparently very easy to match up. A 52cm x 10m roll retails for £49.95, but only from the The Courtauld Gallery shop.

Signed Sir Peter Blake Pop t-shirts back at Ink’d

Pop

First appearing last year, the Sir Peter Blake Pop t-shirts are back with the sun at Ink'd – and this time you can pick up a signed limited edition.

Yes, probably the cheapest signed Sir Peter Blake work around, the t-shirt is a limited edition of 500, but just 50 (all sized medium) will be signed by the great man, hand signed in black pen under the logo. So make sure you don't wash it. And of course, if features that super cool 'pop' logo.

That version will set you back a very affordable £39 – or you can opt for the more practical unsigned version, which retails for £29. Both are sold in a Blake-themed gift box.

Artemide Dioscuri space age table light

Dioscuri

A fairly recent design, but if you're looking for that space age look for a room, the Artemide Dioscuri table light is certainly worth a look.

Designed by Michele de Lucchi in 2000, it's the classic glowing ball, available in four sizes (as the image shows) and with a hand blown glass diffuser sat on a steel and polycarbonate base.

Prices start at £83.

Lego MP3 player by Digital Blue

Lego_mp3

We featured the camera some time back, but it's now been joined by the Lego MP3 player by Digital Blue – and it's certain to make a real impact on the daily commute.

Not the most feature-packed player you'll encounter, but all the basics are here – 2GB of storage, a rechargeable battery, MP3/WMA playback, USB connectivity and earphones. We're not sure if the latter will be shaped like mini bricks – we can only hope.

Should be cheap too, around £27 when it hits the shelves this summer in the two colour options above.

Novac MV-CM001U – convert cassettes to MP3

Novac

A great gadget out of Japan – and here's hoping that the Novac MV-CM001U makes it to the UK.

Beneath that retro-styled dark wood casing is a clever bit of technology that coverts your old analogue cassettes to a more useful digital format (MP3 or WMA). Just pop your cassette in the top, hook up to a PC via USB and your tracks are saved for playback on there or on a portable player. If that sounds like hard work, you can just play your cassettes back through that large speaker on the front. Large, but not overly powerful – 1.5w of output.

It's available from this month for the equivalent of around £50 in Japan. Look out for it at the various gadget retail shops soon after.
