eBay Watch: 1979 Mini Pick Up

Mini_pickup

BMW might well continue to bring out variations of the new Mini, but it’s fair to say they’re unlikely to produce a Mini Pick Up, like this 1979 model, currently up for grabs in eBay.

In truth, I don’t recall ever seeing one of these before, but I’ll take the seller’s word that this is a genuine vehicle. It’s undergone some restoration, but still needs a few finishing touches. However, it does have its plus points, including a mileage of just 49,000, bucket seats, new carpets and foot pedals and replacement bodywork in keeping with the original.

No-one has bid for the car as yet, so you never know – you might get it for the £250 starting price if you’re lucky.

eBay Watch: Low mileage 1973 Triumph Stag

Triumph_stag

Despite a reputation for poor mechanics and even poorer build quality, there’s something very stylish about the Triumph Stag – and it’s become very much the classic car – if you can give it the attention its looks deserve.

This 1973 Triumph Stag on eBay has had that attention, just three owners from new, regular servicing and minimal driving – just 27,000 miles on the clock. It’s also got a completely original interior and mechanically, it matches the build sheet document from its original date. And most importantly, thanks to being kept in a centrally-heated garage for 22 years, it is completely rust-free.

During its seven-year history, not many Stags were actually built – and many less survive. So this is certainly one to look at if you want to own one. It’s currently at just over £5,000 – expect it to go for much more.

Officially-licensed Vespa mugs

Vespa_mugs
Piaggio seems to throw most of its money and energy marketing its modern variations of the scooter these days. But when it comes to merchandising, it’s always about heritage. And that includes these officially-licensed Vespa mugs.

Like all mugs, there’s not a great deal you can comment on, with the exception of the design. And these pass the test, with a choice of the the more straightforward Vespa logo on blue background or the classic scooter on a check background with red detailing.

Whichever one you choose, it will set you back £5.50.

And there’s a video of the C5 on the ebay page, just do you can see it in action – in case you were wondering about roadworthiness.

The price? Well, it went up yesterday with a Buy It Now for £1,500. If that’s a bit rich, you can also make a best offer.

Future classic? Probably.

eBay watch: 1969 Fiat 500

Fiat_500_old
It seems like the new 2007 version of the Fiat 500 is a car you either love as a sensitive update or hate as a car devoid of all the things that made the original so cool. Well, if you’re one of the latter, you might want an original, like this 1969 Fiat 500 on eBay.

In blue, with a 650cc engine, just short of 50,000 miles and as a UK-registered vehicle, right hand drive. And it seems to have had a good bit of renovation – lots of new panels, replacement engine, new brakes and a new paint job.

It’s still got a number of days left and sits currently around £3,500 – I imagine the price will rise much higher before the April 5th end date.
