I love London lunchbox

I love London lunchbox

More products featuring the iconography of London, with this I Love London lunchbox. You may remember the distinctive London tissue pack we featured a couple of weeks back, showing a retro-style illustration of a Routemaster bus and people queueing in line. That image has been used again here – to decorate the plastic lid of a lunchbox.

I've not been able to find out any more information about the illustration – whether it's a genuine image from the late 1950s or 60s or just the work of a skilled copy-cat. Whatever its provenance it remains a striking image and you may be pleased to hear it's now also available on a greeting card and on a doormat, as well as on the lunchbox.

The lunchbox costs £4.95.

Cassina 1950s Tre Pezzi lounge chair by Franco Albini

Pezzi

An interesting and distinctive piece of design from the 1950s – the Cassina Tre Pezzi lounge chair by Franco Albini.

It was first seen back in 1959 and was described as a modern interpretation of a classic 18th century French style bergére. So a retro piece even back then, if you like. It's made up of three elements, composed of three elements – the deep seat, the back support ring and the half-moon headrest, with a frame made of tubular steel and upholstery in fabric or leather.

Obviously the latter will impact on the final price, but the chair sell from around £1,872.

Casamance is a French company and this wallpaper is taken from their 'London' collection, inspired by the swinging sixties. If that's just too bright for you, there are five different colour options available.

The paper costs £54 a roll.

Lotta Kuhlhorn pear mugs

Lotta pear

It was only earlier this week we showed you Lotta Kühlhorn's jazzy lindyhop coasters. Here's another design from her, suitable for decorating the retro home, these attractive pear mugs

Like the products featuring her apple design, she uses a simplified, colourful version of the fruit. The pears come in bright pop shades of red, yellow and pink, as well as the more traditional green. Use them them next to your Orla Kiely pear mugs in the kitchen for a very fruity cup of tea.

The mugs cost £7.25 each.

Cassina Petalo occasional tables by Charlotte Perriand

Perriand

We first spotted these back in 2009, but now the Cassina Petalo occasional tables by Charlotte Perriand are available to buy in the UK.

As we said previously, these were originally designed by Perriand back in 1951, specifcally for student accommodation and now on the commercial market for the first time. Cassina, which has reissued the tables, used a surviving prototype to re-create these metal-framed tables, each with soft-cornered triangular tops and sold as a set of five in varying heights and colours.

The colourful set will cost you £3,084. But if you prefer something more muted, you can also go for a set with black tops (£3,313) or an oak top (£3,313).

1950s H57 lounge chair by Herbert Hirche reissued

H57

A student of the Bauhaus school, Herbert Hirche was a mainstay of German design, particularly between the 50s and 70s, which was also the period when the H57 lounge chair was created.

Specifically, it hit the market in 1957, with the chair initially created for the Interbau Berlin fair in 1956. Mixing influences of his past and of the era it was designed in, the minimalistic chair has a wonderfully curved fibreglass shell that's padded for comfort, with those skinny angled legs made of steel.

This Richard Lampert reissue is available with fabric, suede or leather finishes (the latter with chrome legs), prices starting at £1,687.
