The Captain’s Pattern: new St Jude’s fabric designed by Jonny Hannah

Captainspattern

Another interesting fabric design courtesy of St Jude's, The Captain's Pattern designed by Jonny Hannah

A while back we showed you Hannah's print for the Museum of British Folklore and this fabric design celebrates some of the folklore and customs of the sea. There's mermaids, deep-sea divers and vintage tattoo-style designs, all interspersed with images of anchors and executed in his trademark style. It's a two colour design (either red/blue or blue/blue) printed onto heavy weight cotton.

The fabric costs £38 per metre or you can buy it as ready-made cushion covers for £32.

40s-style Industrial Wooden Desk Lamp at Graham and Green

Industrial

The title pretty much says it all – a 40s-style Industrial Wooden Desk Lamp, which is available at Graham and Green.

Love those vintage looks, a mix of metal and wood, which give it something of a 'crasftsman' feel. It also offers up a fully adjustable arm and shade for directing your light and enough class to look at home outside your office.

It's on pre-order right now for £169. Note also that Graham and Green has 20 per cent off everything until midnight tonight (26th April 2010). You'll find a discount code on the company's homepage.

Rocket 80s-style cassette deck shelf

Rocket2

How useful it is I don't really know – but for impact, you can't really fault this Rocket cassette deck shelf.

Rocket is the name of the designers rather than the product (which I think is simply called 'shelf'), but is part of a wider collection based on the two designers' 'common infatuation with rock n roll and disco culture'.

In this case, an 80s-style, in-car cassette deck that mixes 2D and 3D elements, specifically wall vinyl and the wooden 'cassette' shelf. The entire design is around 42 inches wide, the shelf part covering 11.7 inches. Two colour options, both available online for £95.

Vintage-style Pharmacy Desk Lamp at Graham & Green

Pharmacy

It might look like a vintage find, but the Pharmacy Desk Lamp at Graham & Green is actually a brand new piece of design.

Very much inspired by the 1930s, this rather smart desk lamp has a swivel adjust, chrome-lined hood, which you can adjust with just a twist of the wing nut, while the on/off button is found on the flex.

If you don't like the red, there's also a green too, with both selling for £119.

New wallpapers from Jonathan Adler

JA wallpapers

The latest collection of wallpapers from Jonathan Adler is every bit as striking and colourful as you'd expect of the designer.

The new designs encompass a range of styles – all distinctively retro in feel. Like his previous collections, the geometric floral pattern of the paper on the left echoes the style of David Hicks. Meanwhile, the design on the right – part of his range for kids – is reminiscent of Alexander Girard's La Fonda design.

Both papers cost $195 for a 'jumbo' roll: with that price (and with those bright colours), they're perhaps something to limit to a feature wall.

Spoon coffee table at Made.com

Spoon_coffee_table_main

Here's an interesting new product from an interesting new company. This Spoon coffee table comes from the range of Made.com. Made is a new website, set up with the aim of 'revolutionising the furniture retail market'. How they propose to do this is by cutting out the middleman: once you order your table, you have to wait for it to be manufactured and shipped, hopefully resulting in a cheaper price.

Of course we wouldn't be including this table on this site if it wasn't for its retro looks and indeed this coffee table (along with the rest of the 'Spoon' range) has that with its curvy lines and interesting geometric table top. The design comes courtesy of Sean Dix, one of six designers producing work for the site.

Is the price enough to convince you that this is indeed the way to revolutionise the furniture market? It's £137.
