Lego digital camera at Urban Outfitters

Lego1

Remember we mentioned that there was a Lego digital camera incoming back at the start of the year? Well, it's arrived in time for Christmas at Urban Outfitters.

As you might expect, this is more style than substance, a decent enough snapper, but nowhere near the top-end high street models. In terms of specifics, that means a 3-megapixel camera with 128MB of internal storage, a 1.5-inch LCD screen on the rear, fixed focus, 4x zoom, USB connectivity and 'three Lego bricks', which you can presumably stick on to do a spot of customising.

Want one? You can buy online right now (and presumably instore too), price is £70. See an image of the rear over the page.

Stylophone Beatbox hits the stores

Beatbox

It was talked about some months back, but now the next-generation Stylophone Beatbox has hit UK stores, which means you can annoy family and friends with it throughout the festive season.

If the original Stylophone screamed the 70s, this one screams the 80s. Replacing the proto-synth sounds are (as the name suggests), beatbox-like sounds from three different sound palettes – percussion, actual beatboxing (provided by beatbox champion MC Zani) and bass tones. Throw in the option of creating a percussion loop and you're good to go for creating your own hip hop-style backing track with just a flick of the stylus.

The Stylophone Beatbox can connect to your MP3 player or hi-fi (cable included) for jamming along to your favourite records or if you prefer, a headphone socket keeps it all in your head. Cheap too – just £19.99.

Leica M7 Hermes Edition camera – just 200 available

M7_hermes

It's a thing of great beauty and arguably the most stylish retro camera on the planet – but the Leica M7 Hermes Edition camera is in seriously short supply, despite the ridiculously high price.

This limited edition of the classic 35mm rangefinder system camera is limited to just 100 units of each of the two colour combos – the orange above and a more laid back brown for the calfskin leather – each numbered for authenticity.

For the technical amongst you, if offers up a Leica SUMMILUX-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH. wide-angle lens, a matching classic round lens hood and a LEICAVIT M rapid winder, along with a real leather carrying strap matched to the colour of the camera and a linen-covered, silk-lined box. £8,850 is the price of this baby. If that's not scared you off, head on down to your local authorised Leica dealers and the Leica Store in Mayfair from December.

Olympus E-P2 camera launches – update of retro-styled E-P1

Olympus_ep2

We got pretty excited over the arrival of the Olympus E-P1 – that mix of retro-styled looks and modern-day Micro Four Thirds being a heady mix for the semi-pro photographer. But just months after the original launched, there's an update – the Olympus E-P2 camera.

It irons out a few niggles with the first model and adds a few new bits and pieces. Still a Micro Four Thirds (all the functionality of a digital SLR, but none of the bulk), the new model adds a port for an electronic viewfinder or (should you need one) external microphones, a couple of art filters, an i-Enhance function to improve your finished snaps and the ability to record 7 minutes of AVI format movies in 30fps at HD (1280x720p) resolution.

The Beatles Stereo USB Apple – 14 digital albums on a fruit-shaped USB device

Beatles

The Beatles hierarchy seems less than keen to officially offer the band's back catalogue for digital download, but it has sanctioned this rather cool little release – The Beatles Stereo USB Apple.

Yes, shaped like an Apple (of course), this limited edition launch offers 14 digitally remastered stereo albums, CD 'visual elements', 13 mini-documentary films about the albums, replicated original UK album art, rare photos and expanded liner notes, all on one USB device.

A specially designed Flash interface has been installed, and the 16GB USB’s audio and visual contents will be offered in FLAC 44.1 Khz 24 bit and MP3 320 Kbps formats, fully compatible with PC and Mac. 30,000 of these will be made, with 100 available for pre-order in the UK. Price? £200. If you're in the US or elsewhere, check the official site for your own ordering details.

Joe Colombo-inspired Colombo One phone finally hits the UK

Colombo_one

Remember the Colombo phone? Of course you do, but you might not have realised it was officially the Colombo Two, with another Joe Colombo-inspired handset appearing in the first press shots, but never actually appearing in the stores. Well, the Colombo One phone is now available in the UK.

Still packing those 60s space age looks, the Colombo One is actually a very different proposition to the original, it stands upright (rather like an Ericofon at first glance), although the keys and screen are much the same. However, the biggest different is in the holder. Not just a place to stick the handset for a charge, it accesses a fully featured digital answering machine, which can actually be accessed remotely.

Other features include the ability to store up to 250 numbers, text messaging, a selection of ring tones, an alarm clock, caller ID and an eco mode. This ChauhanStudio design is once again produced by Magicbox and is available to buy now from Argos as a single phone or a double pack. Prices start at £33.32.
