Minidryer_m

The Corioliss Mini Vintage Hairdryer combines a retro design with modern technology.

The hairdryer has been designed mainly with travel in mind – as well as its compact size, it is has multi voltage for global use and comes in a co-ordinating travel pouch. It has also two drying speed settings but its best feature is that great retro shape.

The dryer is available in a range of colours. You can buy it in powder blue or grey from Look Fantastic or in pink or a floral pattern from Heals. The plain colour options cost £25 and the floral one £26.

Revo launches 60s-style Heritage radio and iPod dock

Revo_heritage

Want the 60s looks but also the modern-day functionality? You want the Revo Heritage radio and iPod dock.

Pitched as a 'contemporary reinterpretation of classic European table radio designs from the 50s and 60s' (think Braun, Bang & Olufsen etc), it's a mix of metal and walnut veneer that's designed to look like a high-end radio of days gone by, but with DAB, DAB+, FM and Wi-Fi internet radio inside, this is very much cutting edge technology. Oh yes, room for your iPod and iPhone too.

You'll also get a custom designed 3-inch neodymium speaker driver and high fidelity 7W amplifier, a graphical OLED display, 'joystick' control system and a 30-day Last.fm trial subscription. Look out for it in early November at John Lewis, priced at £229.95.

Ion Tape Express – Walkman-like device converts cassettes to MP3

Ion_tape

A recent audit in RTG Towers found around 300 cassettes kicking about and doing very little. Which makes me the ideal audience for the Ion Tape Express.

It looks like an old Walkman, perhaps because it pretty much it. Just slap in a tape and press 'play', but first connect to a computer via the USB cable. In that way, you'll be able to convert those old tapes to modern-day-friendly MP3 using the included EZ Tape Converter software. Which means you can save your old tunes for playback on an iPod or if you prefer, you can burn to CD.

Failing that, it works as a good old fashioned cassette player. Good for use with PC or Mac, you can pre-order one now for £49.99.

Kef limited edition space age KHT3005SE home cinema system

Kef

A rather long title, but the image of the Kef limited edition space age KHT3005SE home cinema system pretty much speaks for itself.

A stunning piece of home audio, this limited edition set (just 50 will be available) could have come kicking and screaming out of the early 70s. Except of course, such technology didn't exist. So let's just say it'll fit effortlessly in your modern-day space age home.

For your money, you get a 5.1 surround sound system with white gloss finish, consisting of four x HTS3001SE satellite speakers (looking not unlike mini Egg chairs), one x HTC3001SE centre speaker and a floorshaking 250W HTB2SE subwoofer. If you have £1,499.99 to spare, you can grab one from November.

eBay watch: 1970s Philips stereo 22AF 200 portable record player

Philips1

It's go some time to go yet, but for us, this Philips stereo 22AF 200 portable record player is the bargain of the moment on eBay.

A 1970s design, but quite a sophisticated one, this mains-powered player packs away into a small carry case, looking pretty cool like that too. But open it up and you can remove the sides, which double up as two speakers, offering that stereo sound on the go. There's even dual volume controls, one for each speaker.

Sold in that orange colourway, it's currently up for just £1 (plus some postage from Germany). Yes, an absolute steal. Check out the record player opened up over the page or check out full details at the eBay site.
