Fred Perry x Liberty clothing range previewed

Liberty1

Fred Perry has announced its latest Blank Canvas range, following up the Stussy partnership by teaming up with iconic London department store Liberty for a range of classics with a Liberty twist.

April is the shelf date, when classic Fred Perry pieces will get a very distinctive twist, specifically by adding two of Liberty's own classics – Mark (paisley) and Edenham (floral).

The designs include four re-worked classic M12 polos, two in Black with Ecru tipping and two in white with Larkspur and Berry Red tipping, along with a short-sleeved shirt fully printed in both Liberty designs and the Classic Fred Perry Black Harrington Jacket with Mark lining. Prices will be announced nearer to the launch date – but should be a little more than the usual Fred Perry gear. More images over the page.

Walsh Lostock trainers – handmade shoes with an 80s twist

Walsh_lostock1

We have featured Walsh before, notably with its rather smart Bazley shoes. But now the company is going back to its roots with the Walsh Lostock trainers.

Lostock, if you didn't know, is a district of Bolton, with the shoes now back to being handmade in the company's original Bolton factory. Check out the Walsh Twitter page for some shot of the shoes actually being made.

In terms of the shoe, it's an 80s-style running shoe that's designed more for the casual market, packing a nylon upper with leather and suede detailing, along with a chunky sole. A few colour options available, but all with limited availability as they've been made to order – they'll retail at selected retailers for between £70 and £80.

Size offers exclusive colour range of 1970s Adidas Jeans OG trainers

Jeans1
We did cover one reissue of these back in September last year, but Size has got its own exclusive colour options for sale of the Adidas Jeans OG trainers – one of which will probably be in demand from Aston Villa and West Ham fans.

I’m talking about the claret and blue option above, which is released alongside a two tone blue colour (pictured over the page), both of which are available online right now. If you’ve missed them previously, the Adidas Jeans was initially introduced in the late 70s, desiged to be worn with jeans and was much-loved on the terraces.

Aside from the colours, this reissue keeps the trademark dash of yellow on the sole and the all-suede upper, selling online for £64.99.

Update: This reissue is no longer available. However, you can get two recent reissues of the Adidas Jeans trainers at the End Clothing website.

Clarks Originals x Pretty Green desert boots

Clarks_pretty

When he's not stropping about at the Brits craving attention, Liam Gallagher is still plugging away with his clothes label. But he seems to be using a different tactic in 2010, teaming up with established labels. At least, that's if the Clarks Originals x Pretty Green desert boots are anything to go by.

It's a bit 'spot the difference' to be honest, although you've probably spotted the Pretty Green tag on the side, as well as the colour co-ordinated stitching/sole and a minor tweak to the laces. It might even have a slightly slimmer profile, but that's not clear from the early shots. What we do know is that this is essentially the classic Clarks desert boot with a twist, coming in three colours – 'champagne' (above), black and brown.

The price we've heard is £99 (a bit up on a standard pair), with a shelf date of July 2010.

Adidas reissues 1980s ZX 500 running shoes; throws in an 80-style ZX Runner computer game

Zx500

Interesting sales pitch from Adidas, reissuing the mid-80s ZX 500 running shoes and sweetening the deal further with an exclusive Adidas computer game that could have come from the same era.

But let's look at the footwear first, a variation on what's described as a 'bio-mechanically correct, high mileage running shoe', complete with rubber outsole studs that grip soft ground, but 'retreat' for harder surfaces. Those studs get a colour makeover too, as does the cushioned sole, in contrast to the predominantly black upper. Oh yes – there's that game too.
