Retro round sunglasses by Diane von Furstenberg

Dvfsunglasses

Oversized sixties sunglasses have been everywhere for plenty of summers now, but with the seventies revival in full swing this season there's some more unusual retro options to explore. These Round Sunglasses by Diane von Furstenberg have an effortless seventies cool that's hard to resist.

The smaller rounded shape, along with thick heavy frames and a lightly shaded lens give a chic to this pair that recalls Annie Hall's post-beatnik aesthetic. From a designer known for her spot-on seventies looks, von Furstenberg has shown it's not just stylish print dresses she can offer to retro enthusiasts.

Cream Lace Shift Dress from Dorothy Perkins

Creamlaceshift

For a truly authentic sixties look from your modern fashion, simplicity of cut is key. With mod looks opting for sharp lines and uncluttered structure, this Cream Lace Shift Dress from Dorothy Perkins is a perfect vintage-look choice for sixties enthusiasts.

The sleeveless, a-line cut of the minidress creates a cool retro silhouette, keeping the short hemline balanced with a high neck. The simple shape allows room for a textured fabric choice, with the designers using a retro floral lace throughout. Finished in a rich cream shade, this is a piece of sixties styled summer gear that doesn't put a foot wrong.

It's available now from Dorothy Perkins from their online concessions ranges for £35.

Vitra DSW Chairs in a new range of colours

Eamesdsw_m
We featured the Vitra DSW Chair by Charles & Ray Eames when it was re-issued back in 2007, but are mentioning them again as they are now available in a new selection of colours.

The chair itself is based on a 1950 design and now they come in a colour palette that reflects that era. Colours include mustard, cream, stone white, ocean, poppy red and mauve grey, along with the classic black and white options. Like the 2007 versions, these chairs are made from polypropylene, which is kinder to the environment than the original fibreglass.

The chairs are available from Heal’s, priced £302 each.

eBay watch: 1972 Mercedes Benz 250ce car

Merc

Oozing 1970s cool comes this 1972 Mercedes Benz 250ce. Perfect if you are looking to pull off an old school gangster look.

According to the seller, this 'pillar less coupe' has a 'genuine' 89,000 miles on the clock of the 2,496cc engine and comes with the original manuals and lots of invoices. It's automatic, with two doors, a light brown leather interior and from what we can see, pretty much everything original (or replaced as original), with the possible exception of the stereo.

The seller is looking for offers of £5,600 for a car he claims is 'surprisingly cheap' on insurance and free of road tax. You might want to check the former before you bid though. Lots of images on the listing page if you want to see more.
