1950s-designed Marianne Westman Picknick coasters

Picknick coaster
We covered the reissue of Marianne Westman's 1956 Picknick design last year, and in turn the chopping boards that also used the design. It gets a further lease of life with these new Picknick coasters

Each of the square coasters reproduces one of the foodie motifs from the design. Use them with the rest of the Picknick homeware range and you've got everything you need to set up your own indoor picnic.

Simple and sweet, a set of the four coasters costs £11.40.

Le Ciel and La Mer prints by Double Merrick

Double merrick

1930s travel posters are always a classic look but from Dave Thompson's prints to this Habitat cushion, they seem to be having something of a revival recently. Add to that mini list these Le Ciel and La Mer prints by Double Merrick

Double Merrick is the work of Merrick Angle, a British designer who is based in France. That probably explains the French that's been used on these prints showing a sailing boat and an aeroplane which both definitely hark back to a more glamorous age of travel.

A4 sized, the prints cost 25 euros each or you can buy the pair for 42 euros.

Festival of Britain shop at Culture Label

Fest

If you happen to have missed it, this week is 60 years since the iconic Festival of Britain took place in London. To mark this milestone, arty online shopping portal Culture Label has set up a Festival of Britain store, packed with products relating to the event.

In truth, some are more relevant than others, although all are worth a browse. Our favourite is undoubtedly the superb Southbank Centre x Lizzie Allen Festival of Britain Wallpaper. It's a bespoke wallpaper, made in very small runs and using traditional, hand crafted processes, with this particular design celebrating the energy and vigour of the Festival of Britain, featuring both participants and the Southbank itself.

Unlikely to work for a whole room (not least, because of cost), it would look superb as a feature wall. Each roll is 10m long and sells for £370.

Ray-Bans clearance at Brand Alley

Raybans

A look out of the window shows it is still sunglasses weather – and with a Ray-Ban clearance at Brand Alley, there are bargains to be had on that front.

There's a mix of aviators and the classic, retro-style Wayfarer Ray-Bans, worn by bands and hipsters for more years than we care to remember. Of the variations of the latter, the pair pictured above has a dark tortoiseshell frame with green lens, but there are plenty of others to choose from.

Grab the ones above for £80, down from £120. All are 'while stocks last' of course.

1970s Puma Basket trainers reissued in white and black

Puma_basket

Looking for a non-nonsense trainer with pedigree? Check out this latest reissue of the Puma Basket trainers, offered up in white with black detailing.

The trainers have been around since the 1970s, pre-empting the better-known Clyde, but like that shoe, designed initially for the basketball court. Still loved for their old school looks, the Clyde is reissued here with a premium white upper, contrast stripe and a style pretty much faithful to the original.

Limited numbers (as is the case with almost every trainer reissue these days), you can bag a pair for £55.
