Floral Egg Chair

Eggchairredfloral

The Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen needs no introduction and most would think it couldn’t be improved. However, this classic design has been given a makeover in the Floral Edition reproduction currently being sold by Mojo Interiors.

The floral print is a wild, scattered pattern in grey on the red and green chairs and in white on the black model. It adds a more homely feel to the stark original design, but whether that is a good thing is a matter of personal taste.

The chair costs £799 and a matching footstool is available for an additional £200. Visit Mojo Interiors to see all of the options.

Fornasetti Occhio Eye Stool

Fornasetti_stool

Looking for a piece of surrealist art for your home? This Fornasetti Eye Stool offers that – and a practical piece of furniture.

The seat features an original design by Piero Fornasetti, painted by hand on a poplar seat. And that is positioned on a typically mid-century set of three black-lacquered beech-wood legs.

It’s handcrafted in Italy and made to order. So you can guess it’s not cheap, Well, it isn’t – but not as costly as you might think at £475.

Monsoon Etta vintage style top

Etta

This top is something of a rare gem from Monsoon, finding black separates that don’t look like dowdy workwear can be challenging at times, but this Etta top certainly comes through in the style stakes.

We can only presume that the name is a nod to Ms. James herself, as the top has a great deal of sassy fifties styling going on. In 100% silk satin, it will look every bit as good as an original fit for a starlet. Thanks to the sheer sleeves and battenburg neckline, it’s far from frump too.

It’s available from Monsoon for £55.

Morecambe and Wize – vintage VW camper van hire in the north of England

Morecambe

We have featured a few vintage VW camper van hire companies in the past – but all have been based in the south of England. Well, Morecambe and Wize offers an alternative – operating out of the north.

As the name suggests, Morecambe and Wize operates out of Morecambe (rapidly becoming retro central), offering the hire of a fully-modernised 1972 classic VW Devon Moonraker camper van for use around Morecambe, the Lake District, up into Scotland or indeed anywhere you like – there’s on mileage limit.
